Tuckies do some sport fishing with the Whale, 9-3

The Tuckerville Tuckeroonies of Tuck tucked 9 in behind the Whaler's netminder for a dominating 9-3 schallacking of the Whalers. Tuck showed up with all their spears and harpooned the Whalers, then ate their raw blubber in a post game celebration.

Tuck was powered by their top line, some solid defense & goaltending. The newly dubbed M & M's line of Adam "Preying" Mantn, Derek "Kojak" Nowak & Simon "The Bum Looker" McKay scored 7 of Tuck's 9 goals and a ridiculous total of 17 points on the night. They did have another 2 lines out there, but really......do we even need to discuss? No offense guys. The Whaler's Kenny "Le Bisquit" Lallier didn't have a very good night posting a .719 Save Percentage with 23 saves on 32 shots, but yet again you can't put all of the blame on the decrepit old man as the Whaler's play in their own end is weak at best, especially late in the game when their forwards start getting tired and lazy.

Ryan "The Fizz" Fitzgerald was excellent in the win, that is if you call turning away 28 of 31 mediocre shots that seemed as if they were coming of the sticks of pre-pubecent 12 year old girls. Regardless of the shots, Fitzgerald was generally there to stop all of the knuckle pucks darting through the crisp arena air.

In typical Whaler fashion, they started out strong and kept this one close through 2 periods before packing it in and collapsing in the 3rd.

Tuck jumped out VERY early in this one from McKay, both assisted by Mantin and Nowak contributing one helper. The first came just 44 seconds in on the first shot of the game as McKay beat Lallier with a twisted wrister from the top of the near faceoff circle. McKay potted his second under 2 minutes later at 12:25 from Nowak & Mantin. The remainder of the first period was more or less boring as hell, with only 8 saves total and lots of bumbling around. Both teams recorded a penalty but neither could capitalize.

END OF THE FIRST: Whalers ZERO, Simon McKay 2
Saves: Lallier(WHL) 4, Fitzy(TCK) 4

The Whalers finally broke through when Liam Olivier "Twist" was taken down in front of the net but was able to jam home a Jimmy "Legs" LeClair rebound from his ass. The Whalers were on TOP OF THE WORLD and forgot that a hockey game was still being played, letting up a Nowak goal just 11 seconds later from Mantin & McKay. Nowak tallied his second of three on the night with 8:58 to go. "It would appear as if Lallier did noooooot bring his A game today, as the last two goals were not of the highest quality" said one unnamed source who just so happens to work in the scorekeepers box.

The game took a turn for the worst....."Five minutes to go in the second aaaaannnnd.....I've seen WNBA games with more action than this." (Unnamed Source) Regardless of the slow pace, Tuck was still pretty much in control and the Whale just couldn't seem to get anything going....that is.....until.....DUNT DUNT DUNNNNN, the last minute of play when the Whale mustered ALL OF THEIR ENERGY FOR ONE GOOD SHIFT. Joey "The Mute" Hayes & "The Bride Of" Chucky Gaede both tallied on assists from Oliver & LeClair in the last 34 seconds of play. It looked like the Whalers had flipped the switch, it was now a one goal game, 4-3, and they were ready to dismantle the horrific stereotype of a team that just can't hang for all 3 periods. YEAH RIGHT!

END OF THE SECOND: Whalers 3, Tuck 4
Saves: Lallier(WHL) 15, Fitzgerald(TCK) 14

It would have been a feel good night for the Whalers if the game had ended after two, but it was all downhill from the drop of the puck. First, Oliver took a roughing call that led to a Tuckie power play goal as Mantin finished a McGovern pass. That let the steam out of the Whalers engine, and then Tuck added another 4 goals just to rub dirt in the gaping and bloody wound. The goals came from Hession, Nowak, Mantin & Albro.

END OF REGULATION: Whalers 3, Tuck 9
SAVES: Lallier(WHL) 23, Fitzgerald(TCK) 28
