Tuck bounces Back, Throttles The Blues 10-4

Wow, after getting absolutely shallacked last week by the Lumberjacks 9-6 where they went down 4-1 in the first and 7-2 early in the third period before bouncing back, the Tuck Business School Turduckens absolutely throttled the Labatt Blues 10-4.

This was a 9-1 game early in the second period before Tuck pulled back the reigns and took their foot off the proverbial throats of the Blues.  The Blues spread the wealth around, using 6 different goal scorers and eight of their nine skaters registered at least one point.

Leading the way were big nights from Jonathan Carkeek who was solid on the backend and chipped in with five points(1g, 4a), Sam Gray and Stefan Soucy both added a hatrick and helper, and Luke Stickel potted a goal and three apples.

It was a rough night for the Blue's goaltender, Jon "Super Trooper" Hall who let in 6 of 13 shots in the first period.  That being said, it wasn't all Hall's fault, as his team bumbled and turned pucks over en route to the win.  Tuck was also absolutely flying.  Multiple backdoor goals and tic-tac-toe tallies.  They moved the puck around the Blues as if they were playing Mites in the first period.

Both Hall and the Turducken's goalie, Brendan Kelley, were required to make some big saves in this one, including a handful of breakaways and odd-man rushes, especially late in the game.

The late rally from the Blues was just that, late.  3 goals in the final 5 minutes from Jake Rick, Anthony Matarazzo and TJ Moran cut the lead from 10-1 to 10-4 and were probably pity goals allowed by the Tuckies.

These two teams will face-off again on February 7th.  I would expect that the Blues will show up with a better effort.
