In the first game of the night we had a battle of the 1st place Blues hosting the 2nd place Whalers. The Blues would jump out to a 1-0 lead on a goal from Bart Moran. Whalers Dan Fenton would answer back at 6:24 to make tie the game up at 1-1. The period would end with the scored tied .
In the second period the score would remain the same until 7:49 when Matt Fracassi would put the Whalers up 2-1 at 7:49 mark. Two minutes later the Blues would answer back on a goal from Keith Lazarczyk with 5:43 remaining in the period. The Blues would then go up 3-2 on a goal from Tyler Hancock with 3:41 left in the period. The period would come to an end with the Blues leading 3-2 heading into the third.
In the third the Blues Tyler Hancock would score his second of the night at 9:02 to put the Blues up by two (4-2). The Blues Tim Barrett would make the score 5-2 at 7:43. In a game that looked like it could be over the Whalers would claw their way back as Ryan Longfield would make the score 5-3 with 6:40 remaining. Then the Whalers Dan Fenton would notch his second of the night less then a minute later to make the score 5-4 with 5:50 to play. The Blues Bart Moran would kill the Whalers hope with his second goal of the night and to put the Blues up 6-4 at the 4:44 mark. The game would send with the Blues winning 6-4 and they would remain in first place after knocking off the Whale.
