In the second game of the night the Gamblers hosting the Nordiques. The Gamblers come into this game off a huge 6-4 win last week over the top seed Lumberjacks. The Nords come into this week after a 5-3 loss to the Whalers as roster troubles have affected the Nords play lately. The season series is tied 1-1 but in the third meeting of the year we have two teams that are going different ways in the standings. The Gamblers will win this game 8-4 if the Nords can't field a full roster. The Nords have a full roster look for this game to be closer but with the Gamblers winning 4-3.

In game number two of the night we have the Nordiques hosting the Gamblers; the Nords come into this week of a loss to the Whalers. The Gamblers come into tonight off a big win over the top ranked Lumberjacks. The game started out with the Nords taking it to the G-men and it only took about six minutes before the Nords got the game"s first goal from Roger Phillips who put in the rebound off a Pierce Mayhew wrap around attempt. After the goal the Gamblers picked up their play and started peppering Kenny Lallier who was in net for JT who was out of town tonight. After several shots on Lallier the Gamblers Ethan Gage was able to tie the score at one after he picked up a loose puck in the Gamblers end, Gage skated down the side boards and let a twisted wrister go that beat Lallier with 5:45 left in the period. The Nords Jamie Solon answered back just two minutes later as Sailer hit Solon in stride to send him in on a breakaway to put the Nords up 2-1. The Gamblers Max Woods was able to tie the score with just less than two minutes left in the period as he put home a rebound off of Ryan Bergeron shot from the point. At the end of one the score was 2-2.

The second period started with the Gamblers wasting no time as Max Woods scored his second of the night just 49 seconds into the period putting the G-men up 3-2. The Nords Kelly Park was able to tie the game up at 11:32 on a shorthanded goal and change the momentum for the rest of the period. The Nords would take the momentum off of the shorthanded goal and keep pressuring the G-men. Jamie Solon would get his second of the night with 4:11 left in the period to put the Nords up 4-3. Although the G-men were down 4-3 with the Nords putting a lot of shots on the Gamblers they didn"t give up. With just two minutes left in the period the G-men tied the game at four when Ryan LaCroix goal. Then just 26 seconds later Dan Ammel put the G-men up 5-4 as he was set up back door by his line mates Gage, and Zach Aher. The Gamblers were able to get one more goal in the period with just 9 seconds left when Goose LaCroix beat Lallier with a shot to put the G-men up 6-4 heading into the third.

The third period saw the Gamblers coming out hard after picking up three late goals in the second as the momentum had switched back. The Gamblers were able to put the game out of reach with just six minutes left in the game when Topo LaCroix got his first of the night, extending the lead to 7-4. The Gamblers got a power play with just over 5 minutes left in the game and Zach Aher was able to put the puck in the back of the net but not without a little help from the Nords Kelly Park. The Gamblers added one more goal from Topo LaCroix to make the final score 9-4 G-men. The Nords fill in goalie, Kenny Lallier was the reason this game wasn"t out of hand as he made 42 saves on the night and the Nords defense didn"t do much to help him out.

Good game, eh. Feb 10th, 2015 11:51 PM My hat is off to the Gamblers on a good fuckin' hockey game tonight. It was a competitive and fast contest, and there was no bullshit, chirping or garbage. Well done, eh. That's how it should be every night in the UVHL! Also, LeLallier was excellent in net tonight for the Nords. Great game, Kenny! Sorry we let the Gamblers score at least 5 back door goals cuz you were making the first save all night and stopped 5 or 6 breakaways, too. Good effort by my teammatestonight as well as we kept it close for half the game with only 3D, and even had the lead for a while. Perry Bove did a good job as our only ref tonight and called/non-called it evenly all night and was mostly invisible out there, which is what a good ref does. See you on the ice! McD
