In game number two we have the number one team in the league Jacks vs. the number two team the Nords. The Nords have been the hottest team in the league as of late winning their last 4 games, meanwhile the Jacks have only lost two games all year and look to stay a top of the standings. The first period started out with both teams coming out tentatively and making sure neither team made a mistake that the other could capitalized on. Both teams took penalties in the first but neither could take advantage of the power play. The period was hard fought but neither team could get on the scoreboard, Zach Lary of the Jacks ended the period with 13 saves while JT (Nords) had 8. Lary was difference maker in the first as the Nords had some really good opportunities and leading points getter Jamie Solon couldn"t beat Lary.

In the second it was more of the same, both teams pushing hard to get the game"s first goal but both goalies again were very solid in net. Nords were close in the opening minutes hitting a few posts and then finally at the 11:40 mark in the period the Nords put one past Lary. Pierce Mayhew was able to sneak back door to receive a pass from Roger Phillips to put the Nords up 1-0. Both teams continued to push for the games next goal but both goalies were that good tonight! With about 4 minutes left in the period Lary made a huge save on the league"s leading scorer Jamie Solon who sprung in on break away but couldn"t put it in the back of the net. The period ended with the Nords up 1-0 and JT finished the period with 13 saves and Lary with 12.

Going into the third period you knew it was going to be hard fought period as both teams wanted this game just as bad as the other. During the intermission the Jacks got each other pumped up and it showed in the opening minutes as the scored the tying goal just 26 seconds into the period when Jordan McGee set up Colby Leperle backdoor to tie the game at one. The Jacks didn"t stop there as they continued to push for the games next goal and peppered JT with shots. About three minutes after the tying goal, Jordan Mcgee was able to beat JT with the go ahead goal who was set up by line mate Cobly Leperle, to put the Jacks up 2-1. The Nords continued to pressure and fire shots from all angles but they were not able to figure out how to get another puck by Lary. The Jacks hung on to win the game 2-1 but they did so relying on Lary as he made another 12 saves his period. He finished the game with 37 saves and was able to keep the leagues top scorer off the scoreboard. JT finished the night with 26 saves in the losing effort. This game was probably the best game of the season as both teams played hard, clean and fast.
