Back 2 Back Rematch: Dead River @ Nordiques

The Nordiques(2-2-0) battled Dead River(0-5-0) last week to a 3-2 win but it wasn't pretty. Dead River hustled and clearly wanted it more. The Nords jumped out to a 3-0 lead but fell apart in the 3rd and were outplayed late in the game, giving up 2 goals in the process.

Dead River doesn't have a win yet, but knowing the Nordiques, this could be their first of the season. The Nordiques have been very un-Nordique-like, only scoring 10 goals in 4 games and letting up 20 in the process for an ugly -10 goal differential. Dead River's goal differential is a league worst -23 as they also have only scored 10 goals(in 5 games) but have let up a league worst 33. The goals allowed issue doesn't fall squarely on their goaltender Matty "Tazzy" Albertazzi who has come big to try to keep his team in each game. In all reality it falls on the team's defense as their defensive zone is an absolute mess.

The Nordiques need some offensive output from their stars and some better defense all around, starting with defenseman Kelly "Turnover" Park who is -20 on the season. Park's only statement to the media regarding his future was to make sure that Dead River's Loren "The Leper" Lunt did NOT get on the scoresheet this week.

Nordiques SHOULD win this one, but you really never know.

Nordiques Get Back on Track with 8-1 Win Over Dead River

The Nordiques & Dead River....A tale of two teams...and two weeks. Last week Dead River battled the Nordiques to a 3-2 loss. A great game for Dead River who out-hustled the Nords all over the ice, clearly wanting to win more than the 'Diques. This week, well the Nords woke up and dominated from puck drop to final buzzer.

Jordy "McBreakaway" McGee was back to his 2010 form with a pair of goals and 3 helpers on the night. Brian "The Beard" Racicot converted two of McGee's passes and added his own helper on the night for the 3rd star of the game and Johnny "Temper Tantrum" Turner was the 2nd star of the game as he stopped 36 of 37 shots on the night.

The Nords were powered by a 5-goal second period
