ODDS: | Gamblers by 4 goals |
OVER/UNDER: | 12 goals |
Tuck has been a quagmire wrapped inside a conundrum this season. After starting off 0-4-0 and 1-6-0, They've bounced back to 8-10-0. Their top line is outstanding & they skate hard. In net Ryan "The Hott Fuzz" Fitzgerald has been inconsistent as he's been spectacular at times & dreadful at others. Some think that it is related to his diet, while others think he needs to up his prescription of both zanex & contact lenses.
The Gamblers also started the season on a low, losing their first 3 games as they tried to finalize their roster. After settling in, they won 9 straight games on their way to their current 13-4-1 record. Their top line is the best in the league, their defense is solid, but their goaltender is kind of funny looking.
The Gamblers offense will be too much for Tuck and will walk away with this one 8-4.

Too much Cluck for Tuck Tuck Tuck, Gamblers win 5-3
TOO MUCH CLUCK FOR TUCK TUCK TUCK. I have no idea what that means, it is just a LOT of fun to say. I'm not calling the Tuckies a bunch of chickens, or even chicks. OR AM I?!?!?
Anyways, I digress..........and the high powered Gamblers (13-4-1) were hosted by the inconsistent Tuckies (8-10-0) in the late game of week 19. This was another great game for a good portion of the contest before the Gamblers broke away late in the 3rd period and put the game out of reach. J-Rock Condon was solid in net as he turned away 26 of 29 on his way to his 12th win in 17 contests. Let me correct this, he was good for a normal sized person, but for a Leprechaun, J-Rock was OUTSTANDING.....being short really is a handicap. Chipping in for the Whalers were Willy "Wobble" Meyer who was like a tazmanian devil on crack as he he peppered Tuck's netminder Ryan "The Hot Fuzz" Fitzgerald with 10 shots himself and a goal. Fitzy was busy all night, especially in the 3rd when he made 15 of his 39 saves and ultimately stopping 39 of 44 on the night.
Both teams sported short benches, but the Gambler's top line was the difference again as they had 3 of the Gamblers 5 goals and 5 points on the night. Their top line opened the scoring with 2 quick goals on the same shift and just 53 seconds apart as Matty "The Milkman" Marrazzo & Danny "The Danimal" Ammel swapped assists, not spit, at 12:44 & 11:51 to put the Gamblers up 2-0 early. Tuck, who was missing their resident leprechaun, Adam "The Preying" Mantin who was on a hot date, had a tough time all night breaking through on the tough defense of the Gamblers. They did manage to add a pair from their top line to tie the score at 2-2 early in the 2nd period. The first came from Derek "The New Guy" Nowak from Ryan "The Governator" McGovern and then Simon McKay from "Big" Petey Albro with 13:52 to play in the 2nd. That was about as good as it was gonna get for Tuck as the Gamblers turned up the intensity and superstar defenseman Mikey "Harry" Harrington set up both "Rolls" Royce Lawrence & Meyer to put the Gamblers up 4-2 with 5:05 to play. Harrington was excellent as he added 3 assists on the night and played some solid defense. The Gamblers were able to add another goal early in the 3rd period from Joey "You've Got The Right Stuff" McIntyre who sang New Kids On The Block love ballads all night long. McIntyre's goal came with 12:25 to play in the 3rd, and despite the fast and furious attempts by the Gamblers, Fitzgerald was there to turn away 15 shots in the 3rd period in a desperation attempt to keep his team in the game.
Tuck managed another goal from Nowak with 8:06 to play, but Tuck didn't have possession long enough in the 3rd to put together many scoring opportunities to cut the lead from 5-3.
