The Gamblers(5-2-1) are on a hotstreak winning 5 in a row after a dismal 0-2-1 start. Tuck(2-6-0) just romped the Brewers 11-3. Tuck is 2-2 after starting out 0-4 and seems to have made some shit soup out their steaming pile of shit that they call their season. Adam "Preying" Mantin has been the catalyst, turning his team around over the last 4 weeks and scoring 6 goals & 2 assists in last weeks ruckus. Behind him are Derek "New Guy" Nowak who actually leads the team with a gaudy 22 points in 5 games. Their defense has been a bit suspect, but they have The Yellow Bonnet leading the way in Ryan "Tha Govenah" mcGovern.

The Gamblers are powered by "Mighty Mouse" Willy Meyer(12g, 8a in 8gp) & Matty "The Breastmilk Man" Marrazzo(8g, 10a 8gp). Their defense is a combination of ragtag, rough & tumble old school goons (Harrington & Fraser) & new talent Joey "The Right Stuff" McIntyre(5gp, 2g, 5a) & "Rolls" Royce Lawrince(8gp, 2g, 4a). Their netminder, J-Red "Stat Sheet Checker" Condon is somewhat reminiscent of a Garden Gnome.....like the travelocity one. Regardless of his miniature size and rotund belly, Condon has been the backbone of this team, keeping them in it when they need him and providing something funny to look at when they don't.

I think Tuck will be "Hanging Tough" with Joey McIntyre (That one was too good to pass up), but will ultimately fall short. Mantin & Nowak will provide the offensive punch, but unless Tuck's Fitzgerald can re-acquire his form from last season, the Gamblers' snipers will have their way with him......this is a tough one to call, but Tuck has been better & despite the firepower of the Gamblers, I'll say the Gamblers win this one 6-4.

Tuck vs. Gamblers

The Ramblin' Shamblin' Gamblers of Enfield are a rollin', with their 6th win in a row. This week it was a solid 3-2 win over a vastly improved Tuck squad. The Tuckians were coming off of an 11-3 spanking of the Brewers and actually carried play for a good portion of this game. Tuck also put 37 shots on the Gambler's Jered "Condor" Condon who earned the 2nd star of the game. The #1 Star of the game was Royce "Wrecking Ball" Lawrence(5' 7", 200lbs) who netted the game tying & game winning goals in this one. The third star went to utilityman Kevin "The Guillotine" Guilbault who played solid hockey all over the ice and contributed a goal & assist to go with some nicely played defense. Missing the scoresheet this week was Willy "Wobble" Meyer & Jason Young "Blood". Young was roaming the ice out there like a angry pitbull wearing a blindfold and carrying a shovel instead of a stick.

Guilbault opened the scoring late in the first period on a pass from Bruce "Blue Spruce" Hathorn. That was the only goal of the period, but rumor had it that Danny Clabough was challenged to smoke an entire pack of cigarettes in-between shifts, he was successful. Tuck tied the game up only 17 seconds into the second when Adam "Preying" Mantis took a perfect pass from Derek Nowak and beat Condon like a rented mule. Lawrence put the Gamblers up for good with a pair just 56 seconds apart at 11:28 & 10:32 respectively on passes from The Danimal Danny Ammel & Joey "You Got the Right Stuff" McIntyre. Simon McKay brought Tuck back within one under a minute after Lawrences Deus but the remainder of the period had nothing but a beautifully scripted flow with no goals or penalties.

The Gamblers tightened up their play in the third, focusing on protecting the lead rather than make a mistake or adding to their total. At one point Condon, closed his eyes and said a prayer to the hockey Gods that they could fend off the onslaught that Tuck was mounting. Condon was spectacular in the 3rd period as the Gamblers clung to the one goal lead and eventually the win.
