Potter still winless after 3-2 loss to Nordiques.

One team was going to come out of tonight's matchup feeling better about their season and one team would contemplate disbanding and possibly group suicide off of the Quechee Gorge, as the two remaining winless teams came into tonights game trying to turn their seasons around. The reigning Mud League champion Potter squad had 2 tough losses to the Storm Kings & Brewers as they had horrible turnovers to start each game. The Nordiques started out by getitng blown out of the water by the undefeated Brewers squad 9-2 and then losing to ONLY 5 Storm Kings in a 3-2 schallacking.

Potter would be without the quick feet and hands of Danny "McIAmScaredOfCompetitiveHockey" McGee, and the veteran leadership of Anthony "The Shank" Shaw & Douglas "Beer Belly" Heavisides. The Nordiques were only missing Jason "Lollipop" Loomis & Dan "I Can't Read the Schedule" Jones. But they did have to play Sean "Mental Midget" Casavant who's favorite past time is jumping on the ice too early and giving the other team a nice powerplay.

The game was set to take place with the Nord's pipe protector Johnny "Dough Boy" Turner staring down menacingly at Potter's Kenny "The Great Wall of Quechee" Lallier. Off of the initial faceoff, both teams were poised to play better defense and help out their netminders a bit more than in the past. The flow of the game was smooth and calculated and took over seven and a half minutes for someone to draw FIRST BLOOD behind a Bruce "The Moose" Hathorn goal with 7:26 to go. The Nordiques jumped into defensive mode and threw their best trap at Potter and paid some special attention to Willy "The Mexican" Meyer. The Nords did finally break through with 1:29 to go when their captain Tao "Samurai" Smith slashed home an unassisted goal to tie up the game.

END OF THE FIRST: Nordiques 1, Potter 1

The Nordiques jumped out to a 2-1 lead with 10:50 to go when Kirt Johnson took a pass from the slow and curvaceous Dr. Shawn "Hippo" McDermott, and beat Lallier with a low wrister. I would like to add that McDiesel is looking exceptionally svelte as he has dropped a blistering 1% off his body fat in the past week......a whole 10 lbs. He was able to loose this weight on the new buffalo wings & diet coke diet. Apparently the diet consists of only 5 plates of wings instead of 10 each night and a large diet coke instead of an oil barrel of regular coke. Shawn also let me in on a little secret that hooking yourself up to an IV of blue cheese dressing every night before bed is NOT HEALTHY. That is his professional opinion. That was the only goal of the period as both teams were playing for the win and not to pad their stats, yet Potter still pressed the entire period and if it were not for the outstanding goaltending of Turner, this could WOULD have been a different game as Potter hammered Turner with 19 shots in the 2nd.

END OF THE SECOND: Nordiques 2, Potter 1
SAVES: Turner(Nords) 33, Lallier(Potter) 18

Potter struck back just under a minute and a half into the 3rd to tie the game up behind a goal from #14. I'm not quite sure who this was since there isn't a #14 on their roster and for some reason can't remember a damn minute of that game. So I gave it to my boy, Kevin "Gilly" Guillbault, off of assists from Davis & Matthew "Porta-Potty" Potter. The Nordiques took the lead for good with 6:47 to go behind an Eric "Galloping" Gattie goal assisted by Sean "Smurfette" Casavant. Potter continued to press over the next 6 minutes but were continually shut down by Turner & a solid defensive effort by the entire Nordiques team.

END OF REGULATION: Nordiques 3, Potter 2
SAVES: Turner(Nords) 46, Lallier(Potter) 29
