Tuck continues dominance of the UVHL with 5-2 win over Nords.

The second game of the night had the 3-2 Nordiques hosting the 4-1 Tuckians. After the first game of the season where Tuck absolutely manhandled the Nordiques 6-1, the Nords had a game plan.....don't play like a bunch of limbless monkeys. The plan started out very well only allowing Scotty "Don't hook me or I'm telling the refs" Turco the only goal of the first, as he took a nice pass from Ryan "Yellow Helmet" McGovern in the neutral zone, looked the Nords defenseman off as he cut across the high slot all alone and beat John "Rage Gordita" Turner low glove with 9:57 remaining in the first.

It was a pretty even battle for most of the second when Petey "Hamburgers" Hanbury tried clearing the puck high out the zone up the middle. Kelly "Captain Hook" Park leaped like Kevin Garnet at the blue line pulling the puck down onsides, much to the screaming and hollering of the Tuck team, beat Hanbury in the low slot, then fed a back hand pass back to an open Ian "Snaggletooth" Coates in the slot. Coatesy then beat Ryan Fitzgerald with a nice wrist shot high glove slot through a screen. The two teams battled vigorously for the remainder of the period until Brian "Speedy Gonzales" Fleming tipped in a pass from Pace Ralli with only 5 seconds remaining in the period to bread the 1-1 tie. Nothing is worse for a teams morale than letting up a goal in the first or last minute of a period, especially one that breaks a 1-1 tie.

Tuck started turning the tide early in the 3rd period, showing their conditioning and patience. Only 2:11 seconds in, Kelly "Captain Turnover" Park made a beautiful pass right up the middle and onto the stick of Michelle "La Babe" Labbe, who quickly made a nice dish to Turco. Due to the fact that Park was the last man back and made such a horrendous turnover, Turco broke into the zone all by himself. Park managed to get close enough to Turco to put a major league hook on him at the top of the crease, but Turco put the brakes on and roofed it overs glove, which would eventually end up being the game winner. The ice started tilting at that point and all the shit ran down hill towards the Nords end as Tuck started piling up shots and time in the offensive zone.

Exactly two minutes after Turco's 2nd goal, he got the hat trick on a short handed goal. With McGovern in the box for a hook and the faceoff in their zone, Fleming won the faceoff back to Kennedy, and as the entire Nordiques squad just sat there and watched without pressuring, Kennedy was able to turn around and flip the puck over everyone's head to a streaking Turco in the neutral zone. At this point there is some varying opinions as to what happened, besides the fact that Turco is nasty and lit Turner up high glove side again. Some believe that Turner was actually taking a nap while standing up on his skates, in the net.......while wearing his hockey equipment. Others think that Park is retarded. Tuck 4 Nords 1

Tuck capitalized on a bad hooking penalty by Park with 6:46 remaining in the game when Labbe burried a Turco rebound to put the Tuckerooskies up by 4, 5-1. The Nordiques cut the defecit to 3 with 4:33 remaining on a great individual effort by Adrien "Hammer Time" Melrose. Melrose picked the puck up in his own end, beat two guys in the neutral zone, split the defense and beat Fitzgerald 5-HOLIO.
