Potter completes 8-0-1 reg. season vs. Leafs on 4/27.
Potter Construction finished up the UVHL's first Mud League with a perfect record and no regulation losses earning them the top seed going into the playoffs. Matt Potter's squad scored an 'even' three goals per period to finish off the hardworking Leafs 9-2 in the last game of the regular season for both teams. Bruce Hathorn continued his rise near the top of the UVHL's Spring scoring leaders scoring at 11:43 of the first from Will Meyer and Kevin Guilbault. Leaf sub Dave Bouthillier answered at 10:11 from #3 (sorry, but I don't have a #3 for the Leafs on the gamesheet or in my database). The Leafs went up 2-1 on Ed Sheehan's unassisted effort at 7:36 only to have Potter's Kevin Louzier tie it at 7:07 from Jason Rouillard. Rouillard went to the box shortly thereafter for holding at 6:35, but the Leafs couldn't convert on the PP. Tom Crapser scored for Potter at 4:01 from Anthony Shaw and assistant captain Justin Barwood for the eventual GWG. In the second Kelly Park, who was subbing in on the Leafs, took a hooking penalty at 10:09 but the Leafs turned away Potter's PP attempts. This was a one goal game for more than half of the contest and there was no scoring this period until the 3:57 mark on Will Meyer's goal from Guilbault and Hathorn to make it 4-2 in favor of Potter. Potter then fired off 5 more unanswered goals and continued their late game heriocs and domination. At 3:45 Kevin Guilbault scored from Hathorn and Matt Potter. Matt Potter was called for trippng at 3:21. Late in the period Louzier scored his second with 0:13 to go assisted by Potter. Justin Wing was sent to the Leaf box for holding at 14:19 of the third. Hathorn added to his Mud League totals at 5:23 from Josh Obar. Meyer scored again with 3:07 left to go from Guilbault. The scorefest ended at 0:15 on Anthony Shaw's unassisted effort.
