In the first game of the night we had the Whalers hosting the Jacks. The Whalers came out with a lot of pep in their step as they would dictate the play on a light Jacks roster. The Whalers Ryan Quinn would get the scoring started as he would snipe a nasty shot past the Jacks goaltender to give the Whalers a 1-0 lead at 10:55 mark. The Jacks Evan Seely would answer back at 8:16 after he picked up the rebound and slapped it home to tie the score at 1-1.  The Whalers would regain the lead and go up 2-1 on a Ben Rouillard goal at the 7:43 mark but again the Jacks Evan Seely would answer to tie the game at 2-2 at the 5:30 mark.  The Whalers Ryan Quinn would pick up his second of the night at 4:30 to put the Whalers up 3-2 and then the Whalers Kirt Johnson would put the Whale up 4-2 with 2:58 left in the period. The period would end with the Whalers up 4-2 as they were playing with passion looking to pick up their first win of the season.

In the second period the teams would exchange power play chances but neither team could score as the score would remain 4-2. With 16 seconds left in the period Tim Patten would bring his team within one goal to make the score 4-3 Whalers. Although the Whalers didn't score they did outshoot the Jacks.

In the third the Whalers Ryan Quinn would pick up his third goal of the night at 11:52 mark to put the Whalers up 5-3 as they seemed to be in charge of this game.  The Whalers would give the Jacks a power play chance after going up 5-3 but the Jacks couldn't score on that chance. The score would remain 5-3 until Tim Patten would score his second of the night with 3:47 left in the period to make the score 5-4.  On the next face off the Jacks won the draw got the puck to Tim Patten who would race into the Whalers zone and score again 11 second later to tie the game at 5-5 with 3:36 left.  With two quick goals you could see the Whalers hard work be washed away instantly and the Jacks were buzzing, the Jacks Joe Gaudet would put the Jacks up 6-5 with 2:27 left in the period.  The Whalers would make a late push and even pull their goalie but they wouldn't have any luck as the Jacks stole this game from them by the score of 6-5.
