In the first game of the night we had Tuck hosting the Labatt Blues. Tuck (1-1) comes into tonight after losing the Gamblers last week in hard fought game. The Labatt Blues (2-0) come into this week off a 4-1 win over the Whalers. The game started out with the Blues showing that they were ready to take on the defending champs getting Tuck to take the game"s first penalty at 12:34. On the power play the Blues Garren Poirier scored the game"s first goal on nice tip, on a shot from the point at 10:38. After giving up the game"s first goal Tuck immediately picked up their play and it was only 3 minutes later that Tuck"s Alex Tonelli tied the game at one. The rest of the period was back and forth but neither team was able to get the go ahead goal. The period would end with the scored tied at one.

In the second period the Blues fought even harder than they did in the first and took the play to Tuck who only had two full lines. It wasn"t long before the Blues got the go head goal from Keith Lazarczyk at 13:33 when Tuck"s Dan Rosen made the first save on a Tim Barrett shot but he was not able to control his rebound. Just 11 seconds after scoring the Blues won the face off and skated into Tuck"s zone with possession, Jason Rasco took a shot from the point and Brain Smith tipped it by Rosen. The Blues were up 3-1 like that, the Blues keep their foot on the gas, Tuck was looking tired and making bad decisions on the ice. The Blues Jason Mikula would score at 6:13 as he picked off Tuck"s d-d pass and race in on a breakaway to beat Rosen low stick side. With the score 4-1 Blues kept the pressure on and scored just 47 seconds later when Mike Anderson moved into the slot and put one past Rosen at 5:26 to make the score 5-1. Tuck was looking down and out with just 5 minutes left in the game, but Tuck"s Jared Pomerance would pounce on a loose puck at center ice that jumped over both Blues defensemen sticks, in on a breakaway Pomerance would beat Blues goalie Jay Seals make the score 5-2 Blues with 4:13 left in the second. Tuck wasn"t done there as they got a little life back and forced the Blues to take a penalty. While on the power play Tuck"s Will Collins was able to bring Tuck within two as he scored with just 2:57 left in the second and the score was 5-3 Blues. Although the Blues just gave up a PP goal they were able to get it back just 55 seconds later when Matt Littler was able to capitalize on penalty shot to put the Blues up 6-3. The period would end with the score at 6-3 Blues but the momentum was slowly staring to turn back to Tuck.

In the third both teams came out hungry and playing with a fast pace as both teams were searching for the games next goal. The game was going back and forth for the first 11 minutes of the period but it wasn"t until 4:32 left in the third that Tuck"s Sean O"Toole would score and bring within two goals (6-4 Blues). With O"Toole"s goal Tuck kept the pressure on the Blues and firing shots from every angle, with the game closing in on the final minute Tuck"s Adam Yang was able to beat Seals with a nasty snipe high glove side to make the score 6-5. With Tuck down by one goal and having all the momentum they won the faceoff, then put the puck deep so they could pull Rosen out and get an extra attacker. With the extra man Tuck was able to pull off the unthinkable when Will Collins was able to score the game tying goal with just 12 seconds left in the game. The final 12 seconds would run out and the score would be tied at 6, to a shootout we go.

Tuck decided to let the Blues shoot first, the shootout would go as follows:
Blues-Tim Barrett skates in dekes save Rosen
Tuck-Conrad Trimbath hits the post , no goal
Blues- Jason Mikula- shot, save Rosen
Tuck-Mark Rautiola- shot, save Seals
Blues-Mathew Littler- shot missed net
Tuck-Will Collins- shot hits post, no goal
Blues- Tyler White- shot, save Rosen
Tuck-Sean O"Toole-deke , save Seals
Blues- Mike Anderson- shot save Rosen
Tuck-Jared Pomerance- quick shot that beats Seals, Tuck WINS

Tuck proved why they are the defending champs as they battled back from a 5-1 deficit and won the game 6-5 in a shootout. This game at one point looked as Tuck was going to lose 10-1 as they were playing poorly and making bad decisions but they stuck with it out and battled back for the win!
