In the first game of the nigh the 5th place Gamblers take on the 6th place Whalers. The G-man are coming into this week off a 5-1 loss to Tuck as they look to get back on track. The Whalers come into this week after yet another hard fought loss to Ramuntos. Both teams showed up with full rosters and ready to play, the Gamblers were the first to get on the board with Matty Marrazzo scoring his first goal of the night just 40 seconds into the game after he put home the rebound off a Josie Fisher shot to put the G-man up 1-0. Both teams kept playing hard and it wasn"t until about three minutes later that Tom Crapser picked a Gamblers break out pass and went in to tie the game at one. The game remained tied at one until the 5:03 mark of the period when Topo LaCroix came into the offensive zone and beat Lallier high glove side knocking the water bottle off the top of the net! The Gamblers started to pick it up and just a minute after Topo"s goal Matty Marrazzo got his second of the night from line mates Josie Fisher and Dan Ammel. Matty and the G-man didn"t stop there, they continued to pepper Lallier with shots and at the 3:00 minute mark Matty Marrazzo got a hat trick after he was set up by Zach Aher to put the Gamblers up 4-1. On the next shift, Jason Young picked up the puck in his defensive end, skated it to the Whalers end and let a WRIST shot go (yes you read that right) after taking the shot he followed and got his own rebound to put the G-man up 5-1 heading into the second period.

The second period saw the Gamblers coming out just as hard as they had in the first but couldn"t get anything by Lallier in the first couple of minutes. The Whalers would score the games next goal at 13:10 when Mike Avery was able to dance his way around Ryan Van Schoik as he came out of his net to play a loose puck at the top of the circle but Avery was able to be him to the puck, G-man 5, Whalers-2. The Gamblers didn"t waste any time extending their lead to four goals when Matty Marrazzo got his fourth goal of the night at 12:17, 6-2 G-man. Just a minute later the Whalers answered back again, this time it was Woody Redpath scoring as teammates James Kerrigan and John Stallsmith set him up, 6-3 G-man. The scoring settled down for the next six minutes as the play went back and forth with each team having numerous chances. The Whalers ended up going on the power play at 5:34 in the second and Eli Desrochers scored a power play goal at 4:45 to pull the Whalers within two goals, 6-4 G-man. But that is as close as it would get as Matty Marrazzo would get his fifth goal of the night at 3:01 to put the G-man up 7-4. Topo LaCroix would add one more goal before the period was over and putting the Gamblers up 8-4 heading into the third.

The third period started with both teams having chances but neither was able to score until the Gamblers Josie Fisher scored at 7:31 after being set up by line mates Dan Ammel and Matty Marrazzo. Topo LaCroix would add one more goal at 6:26 for his third of the night. The Gamblers Matty Marrazzo would add his sixth goal of the night with 2:13 left in the game to help the Gamblers cruise to an 11-4 win. Matty Marrazzo was lights out in this game as the Whalers had no answers for him; Marrazzo finished the night with six goals and one assist.
