I don't think the Whalers will have what it takes to hold up against the power house Gamblers. It will be your classic David vs. Goliath battle despite the Whalers playing their best game of the year last week and demolishing the lowely Nordiques 4-2.

The Gamblers have one of the best lines in the league with Meyer, Marrazzo & Ammel combining for 95 points in 46 games. The rest of their team plays solid hockey that doesn't take any risks & contributes in scoring as well. Oh, watch out for the BLISTERING SLAPSHOT of Jason Young "Blood".

The Whalers Netminder, Kenny "Two-Pad" Lallier had better bring his "A" game to this one if he intends to keep his team in this one.

My guess, Gamblers blow past Whalers 7-3.

Gamblers DESTROY Whalers, 11-3.

The Gamblers were on FIRE tonight, and the Whaler's Kenny Lallier may have had his worst game in net in his 6 year career. Lallier let in 11 and stopped 34 on his way to an 11-3 deficit. The top line of the Gamblers combined for a staggering 21 of the 27 points on the night and were outstanding all night. Leading the way was Dan "The Animal" Ammel, 4g & 2a, who had his best game of the year and seems to be returning to form since adding and then losing 40 lbs of pure glutenous fat. Willy "Wobble" Meyer became a playmaker, setting up 6 goals and adding 2 assists, while Matty "The Milkman" Marrazzo added 3 goals & 4 assists.

In net for the Gamblers was the Upper Valley's favorite Transvestite, Jered "The Condor" Condon. Condon was adequate enough to get the win as he sat back most of the night and enjoyed the freak show going on in front of him, making 32 of 35 saves. Despite the lack of scoring to start the first period, it was still all Gamblers. It took over 6 minutes for the Gamblers to break through on Lallier.....and then.....it was ALL DOWN HILL from there. That first goal was a Meyer to Ammel connection followed by a an Ammel to Meyer to Marrazzo at 4:33, then followed by an Ammel to Marrazzo to Meyer with 57 seconds to go.

END OF THE FIRST: Gamblers 3, Whalers 0

The Gamblers poured on two early ones in the 2nd with a Marrazzo Breakaway containing a dipsy-do and a razzle dazzle before a quick snapper up over the glove side pad of Lallier at 12:52. The Gamblers went up 5-0 with 11:17 to go on a Meyer to Marrazzo to Ammel connection. Meyer scored his second of the night at 9:27 when Joey "You Got The Right Stuff" McIntyre hit him with a breakaway pass that he converted past a diving Lallier. I think at this time the Gamblers started to pull back on their offense, exposing some weaknesses & allowing the Whalers to tally 2 quick goals. The first came from Todd "The Rat" Nallette who took a breakaway pass from Sam "Adams" Bailey. Nallette broke in, made a lame-ass move resulting in a save, then jammed in his own rebound. Scotty "The Daily" Leger made it 6-2 as he burst down the near boards, took McIntyre wide and then cut across the top of the crease. Condon made the initial save, then another on Leger, before he jammed in his 3rd attempt with 7:09 to play. The Gamblers tallied two more in the final 6 minutes to make it 8-2 behind the completion of both Marrazzo & Ammel's hat tricks.

END OF THE SECOND: Gamblers 8, Whalers should have gone home

It didn't take long for the Gamblers to get back into the swing of things as they scored just 24 seconds into the 3rd period. This time it was an anomaly, as Kevin "The Guillotine" Guilbault took a cross ice, indirect pass off the near boards from Scotty "Fireman" Fraser. Guillbault walked in all alone and fired a quick snapper up over the blocker of Lallier. Sammy Bailey scored his own breakaway goal with 7:55 to go to cut the lead back to 6 goals with 7:55 to play before two more Gambler goals in the final minutes to close out the scoring. The first of the two was from who else.......Meyer to Marrazzo to Ammel, followed by a "Rolls" Royce Lawrence to Fraser point shot, that was expertly redirected by Jason Young "Blood".
