Storm Kings Bend Over and Spank Whalers 10-4!

The Kingers came to play in week 3, looking to set the story straight after being dismantled last week, 12-5, by the Brewers. The Whalers on the other hand wanted to carry over the momentum of their 6-5 shootout win over the Gamblers. Rumor's had it that Daniel "The Freezer" French gave a very distinct and unique pre-game talk. Something on the lines of "I'll CASTRATE ALL OF YOU F*#@(*ers if you don't play better hockey. Then I'll feed your nuts to my dogs, then I'll take your nuts after they S*IT them out and piss all over them, then I'll eat them myself and poop them into a can and ship them to China." Strong, strong words from an intense man.

Frenchy's words were to the point, but took quite a while for the sentiment to sink in as the two teams played the SLOPPIEST of SLOPPY hockey throughout the first period, not even registering a single shot until over 5 minutes had been played. Davey "The Natural" Fitts broke the scoreless drought with 9:29 to go in the 1st after taking a pass from the quietest man in the league, Joey "The Mute" Hayes, on the near boards and firing it to the slot, where the Kinger's Stu Close accidentally redirected the puck back through Frenchy's enormous 5-hole to give the Whalers a 1-0 lead. The Whalers jumped out to a 2-0 lead with 4:15 to go after Todd "The Handicap(Golf Reference)" Nalette fired a quick wrister high and hard from Chucky "Child's Play" Gaede.

The Kingers' FINALLY woke up out of their funk when Ryan "The Grin" Sinclair found "Tiny" Timmy Leroy all alone with 3:23 to go. With Timmy Leroy in the sin bin for tripping, the Whale responded just 29 seconds later on a Kirt "Big" Johnson blast from the point and through a screen. That amber glow of 3-1 up on the scoreboard must have sparked furry among the talented Kinger's squad as they took over from that point on and Leroy netting 2 just 7 seconds apart and only 25 seconds on the clock. The first came from a great individual effort as Robbie "The Price Is Right" Barker muscled through 2 Whalers heading behind the net to find Leroy all alone at the far post. On the ensuing faceoff at center ice. Barker pushed the puck forward to Barker who gave him a perfect return pass right up the middle and splitting the defense. Leroy threw an inside-out move on Kenny "Pipes" Lallier before jumping back to the forehand and throwing the puck up over Lallier's extended pad.

END OF THE FIRST: Whalers 3, Storm Kings 3
SAVES: Lallier: 5, French: 4

Lallier was outstanding in the second as he stopped 14 of 16 shots and the Storm Kings pressed the entire period. The Frenchman stopped 8 of 8 on his end as well. "Sinc" netted the go-ahead goal with 6:57 remaining from Close and "Mean" Dean Cashman made it 5-3 just 1:43 later on the power play. The sleeping giant had awaken and man is that a scary lineup to face if you are tired. Just like last year the Whalers blew their load in the first and were out of gas by mid game, and the Leroy-Sinclair-Barker line walked all over them.

END OF THE SECOND: Whalers 3, Storm Kings 5
SAVES: Lallier: 19, French: 12

The Kingers rolled in the 3rd, outshooting the Whale 15-7 and netting 5 goals. Barker added his 4th of the season in just 2 games just 1:34 in, followed by another "MEAN" DEAN CASHMAN goal under 2 minutes later to make it 7-3. Less than 2 minutes later Tommy "The Undeserved Penalty King" Scull finished an Ian "Guilty" Gill pass. Just a side note.....Under the new refereeing system, Scully has not been CAUGHT for any penalty infractions this year, SIMPLY AMAZING. Just over 2 minutes later, Leroy finished off his night of scoring with an "unassisted" tally for his 4th of the game and 8th on the season. Finally, just 33 seconds later, Ronnie "The Sprite" Dupuis, made it a clean 10 from Patty Turcotte with just under 7 minutes to play. The Whalers did manage to get another goal from McHugo before the period ended, but it was too little too late.

END OF REGULATION: Whalers 4, Storm Kings 10
