Kingers end Tuck's Winning Streak

In what was tagged to be an excellent hockey game and picked up by multiple networks, ended up being just that, with the 2nd place Storm Kings(6-2-1) hosting the first placed Tuckeroonies(8-1-0). The Storm kings were entering week 10 on a 4 game win streak while Tuck was holding onto an impressive 7 game win streak. No matter what, one team would be leaving with their streak being shattered.

The First period was more or less uneventful, other than 2 penalties by Mike Adair & Ryan McGovern & the Kingers Greg "Loosey Goosey" Gosselin taking a Brian Fleming shot to the face while he went behind his own net. Both netminders played extremely well with John "Temper Tantrum" Turner rejecting only 4 dismal Tuck shots and Ryan "The Leprechaun" Fitzgerald turning away only 7 pathetic Kingers shots. The Turco-less Tuckians were still trying to find their scoring touch, especially supporting their shortest bench of the year and missing Ryan Burkhart, Michelle "LA BABE" Labbe, Jamie "The Gardner" Greenthumb.....I mean Greenthal, and Trevor Martin. The first period absolutely flew by, as it was an amazing transitional game spanning all 3 zones. There may have only been 4 whistles total, two of them coming from penalties.

END OF THE FIRST: Storm Kings 0, Tuck 0
SHOTS: Storm Kings 7, Tuck 4

The second period was more of the first, great flow, few whistles and even fewer quality scoring chances. It was two very good, well rounded teams that were able to shut down opposing offenses with their positional play. The Kingers mounted 3 penalties to Tuck's 1 in the 2nd period while the keepers turned away 11(Fitzgerald) & 8(Turner) shots respectively.

END OF THE SECOND: :Storm Kings 0, Tuck 0
SHOTS: Storm Kings 18, Tuck 12

The third was............more of the second, with nobody wanting to make a mistake out there in this precision chess match, that is until Brian "The Flying Squirrel" Fleming took a roughing call with 11:06 remaining in the game. On the ensuing power play the Kinger's were having quite a bit of trouble gaining the blue line, which turned into a Timmy "Tool Time" Leroy tripping call at 10:18, putting the teams 4 on 4. From the drop of the puck in the Tuck zone it only took 7 seconds for Kinger's stud, Bob "The price is ABSOLUTELY Right" Barker to forced a turnover high in the Tuckster zone. Barker walked into the slot, juked a Tuck defender, and cut to his backhand for the goal, sliding the puck along the ice past Fitzgerald. With the two teams still locked up in a 4 on 4 battle, Tuck was determined to tie the game up and did so just 44 seconds later Nathan "The Bookworm" Berner walked into the Kinger's zone on the near boards, and fed Takashi "Man of Steel" Mikoshiba across the slot. Mikoshiba one timed the pass alone the ice past a two-pad-a-stackin' Turner. Other than the 44 seconds of offense, the 3rd period was played as well defensively as you can get.

END OF REGULATION: Storm Kings 1, Tuck 1
SHOTS: Storm Kings 28, Tuck 21
