Nords (barely) win Goalie's Duel over Leafs on 3/30.

Both JT and Kenny stood on their heads in this classic 1-goal game battle of the goaltenders. The Nords were looking for some revenge and payback against the Leafs for their week # 1 loss against the blue and white, and they barely got it. Early in the first it was Mr. Leaf himself, Doug Heavisides, who blew past Nords defender Shawn McDermott, aka Fat Bastard, along the left side off a pass from Kirt Jonson and cut in hard towards the Nords net with the puck leaving McD looking confused in the corner unable to catch up having committed his first Northstars brain fart (ask Tom Dakai if you don't understand that one). Heavy went across the crease and found a small hole under JT for the first goal of the game at 10:51. McDermott returned to his bench and felt shame as the Leafs took the lead. The rest of the period remained scoreless and there were no penalties. In the second the Nords' best line of Seth Warren-Dan Ammel-Marcus Ericsson started to gel once agaiin. They generated the most and best scoring opportunities in the game but Lallier was there to shut them down. It took a while, but they finally solved Lallier when UVHL newcomer veteran from Bradford, NH, Doug Troy scored a goal in his frist UVHL game on a shot from the point fed to him by some hard work in the corners from Ammel and Ericsson to tie the game at 1-1. Again, there was no more scoring for the rest ot the period, and no penalties for that matter either. The stingy teams traded scoring chance after scoring chance, and it seemed to the Nords that the Leafs just kept coming and never stopped forechecking. The game was decided late in the third when the Nords Dan Ammel converted Marcus Ericsson and Seth Warren passes in front for the go ahead goal with 4:32 left in the game. The Leafs changed strategy and sent Big Daddy D Alec "Shrek" Jessiman up front to cause some trouble in front of JT in the Nords net. He did, but it didn't result in a Leaf goal and the Nords won this close goalie's duel.
