The Smoke Eaters are captained by Upper Valley hockey lover and enthusiast Jay Campion. They take their name from a British Columbia team that Jay roots for when he goes on his ski vacations to Nelson, BC. We often see Jay donning an authentic Smoke Eaters jersey while playing during his famous Tues/Thurs morning pick-up skates at Campion Rink. This current "Mud League" team is a mixture of some original Storm Kings, now UVHL veterans, and an infusion of youths that make up a potentially formidable opponent on any given night. Wearing the old Storm King's Chigago Blackhawk red or white jerseys, no matter what the outcome the Smoke Eaters look wicked shaaaap on the ice.
