I'll have to check the recordbooks, but I believe that Tuck and the Labatt Blues made history tonight, scoring an insane 20 goals en route to one of the worst defense and goaltending displays in the UVHL's 20 year history.
To say that defense went out the window would be too kind, as it was more like defense was stabbed, strangled and tortured before being thrown out the window in this one.
To be honest, this game could have been worse, had Tuck not stopped shooting in the 3rd period when they were up 12-4, but the video highlights are fun and some VERY nice goals were scored. Too many in fact to recount, but several players had career nights with Tuck's defenseman Jon Carkeek(3g, 3a) leading the way. Carkeek was awesome in all 3 zones and dominated a the short bench of the Blues who only showed up with 8 skaters and missing their starting goaltender Jon "Supertrooper" Hall who was in an intense sensitivity training session.
Tuck carried play in the first period, dropping 19 shots on the Blue's backup goaltender, Bill "The Kid" Lockwood whom was released from his senior living home 20 minutes before game time. Carkeek opened the scoring just 2:28 into the game, followed by goals from Stefan "Saucy" Soucy, Seamus "O'Nasty" O'Neil and Sam "Pay Day" Gray to take a comminding 4-0 lead heading into the first intermission:
END OF THE FIRST: Tuck 4, Blues 0 - SHOTS: Tuck 19, Blues 11
The Blues woke up a little bit and not only defended better, keeping shots to the outside, but also generating a little offense in the second...that is after Gray & Ryan "Butch" Cassidy helped Tuck to a 6-0 lead with 2:09 to play. The only penalty in the game came with 1:20 to play and TJ "Meet me at Mucks" Moran got the Blues on the board with 1:12 to go, tipping in a Tyler "White Hot" White shot. "Mad" Max Major added a late goal with 14 seconds remaining on a nifty toe drag and drive to the net.
END OF THE SECOND: Tuck 6, Blues 2 - SHOTS: Tuck 34, Blues 19
The third period was a shitshow 12 goals scored, 8 of which in the first 6 minutes. Tuck dominated, that's all you need to know. The Blues added a couple of late goals, but at that point, it was late. Watch the video recap below, you'll see.
