Tuck is back after a seven week hiatus and completely forgot how to play defense, giving up 9 goals in an epic meltdown of a 9-6 loss to the Lumberjacks. To be fair, the Lumberjack's also showed a lack of interest in the defensive arts and both goaltenders may have been trying to sleep off a rough New Year's Eve party.
It was an epic night for the Lumberjack's Jordy "McBreakaway" McGee who threw four goals past Tuck's Brendan "Killer" Kelley and added another three apples for seven points. "I probably could have had more points, but my linemates, Jay 'The Zamboni' Zanleoni and Gary "Lead Feet" LaPerle, slowed me down." Said McGee. Laperle did add a pair of goals and a helper. Both goals were put on his stick by McGee, and to be completely fair, a corpse laying on the ice could have scored, as both of the the passes were so good from McGee. Zanleoni bumbled his way into a goal and 3 helpers too, no idea how. "Jordy's coat tails are really long, and fun to ride. I'm a big dude, heavy, but Jordy's strong, real strong." Said Big Z.
Tuck's offense was firing well, and when they had the puck, they were very good. The problem was when they DIDN'T have the puck. Offense came from 4 different scorers, and solid offensive nights from Ryan "Butch" Cassidy(2g, 1a), Stefan "Sugar" Soucy(1g, 2a) and "Bam Bam" Sam Gray(2g).
The Lumberjacks came out flying, with a goal from McGee on the first shift. He'd set up LaPerle with 6 minutes to play for a 2-0 lead before "Diamond" Dillan Pierce made it 3-0 on a gorgeous cross-ice pass from Reed "White Chocolate" Hersey to send him in on a breakaway. Tuck's Gray would finally break through with 46 seconds to play in the first, catching Ryan "The Liberator" Libbey absolutely dozing off in the net, firing a puck from the goaline in the near corner off Libbey and in. To say that goal was embarrassing would be an understatement. "I just...I was...I just don't know," said Libbey, "I guess I just, well, fuck, that's embarrassing."
The rest of the game fell apart defensively for both teams. Too many goals to make this writeup too damn long. Needless to say that Defense went out the window and the Lumberjacks rolled. Watch the game highlights below for more info.
