In the first game back after the holidays we have the Gamblers hosting the Whalers. The Whalers started out as the hottest team in the first half winning 6 straight games before losing the last 3 before the holiday break. The Gamblers finished the first half with a 4-4 record losing their last two games heading into the break. Look for this game to be a one goal game but the Whalers will take it by the score of 4-3.

In the first game of the night we had the Gamblers hosting the Whalers. In the first period it was the Whalers who came out hard with a few good chances right from the opening faceoff, however it was the Gamblers who would get on the board first on a goal from Sean Collins at 8:04 mark.  The Whalers would tie the game at 1-1 with 2:53 remaining on a goal from Matt Fracassi.  The period would end with the score tied at 1-1. 

In the second it was the Whalers who would jump out to a 2-1 lead on a goal from Pete Scalia at the 8:18 mark.  The Gamblers would bounce back on a goal from Goose LaCroix with 5:20 remaining in the period. The period would end with the score tied at 2-2. It should be noted that the Whalers Tucker Garrity-Hanchett made 21 saves in the second period and his two-period total was 30 vs the Gamblers Ryan Van Schoick's two period total of 21. 

In the third the Whalers would pick up their play but couldn't get the puck past the Gamblers Van Schoick. Finally, with a 1:48 remaining the Whalers Marc Stannard would tap in a loose puck off of a Van Schoick save to give the Whalers a 3-2 win over the Gamblers.  The Whalers tender, Tucker would finish the night with 36 saves and the Gamblers RVS would finish with 30 saves.
