In the Whalen Cup final we had the number two seed Tuck, hosting the four seed Lumberjacks. Tuck got into the finals by knocking off the Gamblers last week in the first semi final game and the Jacks got their by winning their play in game vs the Whalers, as well as knocking off the top seed Blues last week to advance to the finals. The game started out with both teams wasting no time getting chances but it was Tuck who would get on the board first with a power play goal from Chris Mahoney at 4:14 mark. Tuck would keep their foot on the gas as Andrew Cox would put Tuck up 2-0 with 3:03 remaining. The Jacks would cut Tucks lead to one after Jake Robinson sent a twisted wrister from the point into the back of the net with 2:27 left in the period. The period would end with Tuck leading 2-1 heading into the second.

The Jacks gained momentum with their late period goal in the first and keep the pressure on Tuck, Tuck would eventually take two penalties 25 seconds apart to give the Jacks a 5 on 3 PP chance. The Jacks would cash in on that chance to tie the game at 2-2 on a PP goal from Evan Seely at 10:44. With the game tied both teams had some great chances but some bad news came for the Jacks as Jordan McGee would pick up his third penalty of the night at 6:53 which meant he was done for the night due to the league rule of three penalties and your out of that game. While on the PP chance Tuck would draw another penalty on the Jacks to have a 5 on 3 PP chance of their own, on that 5 on 3 Tuck's Brodie Stone would put his team up 3-2 with 5:10 left in the period. The period would end with the Jack's getting some power play chances of their own but thy couldn't find the back of the next, the score would remain 3-2 Tuck heading into the third.

In the third period Tuck would take a penalty just 13 seconds in but the Jacks couldn't muster the puck past Tuck's Lindsay Holdcroft. After killing off their penalty it was Tuck who would go up 4-2 on a goal from Jeewoo Park with 11:05 remaining. Being down two goals the Jacks kept fighting to get the games next goal and they would finally get it on a goal from Tim Patten at 8:57 mark. From this point on both teams would get some great chances and the Jacks would even pull their goalie with minute or so left but Tuck would go on to win the Whalen Cup Championship by the score of 4-3. This is Tuck's 7th championship in the past 8 years, congrats to Tuck!!!
