Semi Final game #1

In the first semi final game of 2019 we have the 2nd seed Tuck hosting the 3rd seed Gamblers.  The Gamblers have won 2 out of 3 this year against Tuck but it was Tuck who took the last game by the score of 6-2.  Look for this game to be much closer this week then last week if the Gamblers can shut down the top guys for Tuck (Cox, Hunnewell, Stone).  The edge goes to Tuck who has been dominate since they came back from their break winning 5 out of the 7 games they had remaining.  Tuck will win this game by the score of 3-2. 

In the first semifinal game of the night we had the second seed Tuck hosting the third seed Gamblers. Both teams showed up with short benches for one reason or another but both teams were ready to play. Tuck would waste no time getting on the board first as Brodie Stone would notch his first goal of the night a 1:58 into the game. The Gamblers Will Meyer would tie the game up on a backhander that he was able to sneak by Tuck's Lindsay Holdcroft 7:18. With the score tied the Gamblers would get a power play opportunity that they wasted no time on as Will Meyer would notch his second goal of the game just 14 seconds into the power play to give the Gamblers a 2-1 lead heading to the second.

In the second period Tuck would tie the score at 2-2 on a goal from Chris Mahoney at 11:10. This would be the periods only goal as Tuck had the the only chance on the pp but the Gamblers were able to kill it off. The second period ended with the score being tied 2-2 but the Gamblers Ryan Van Schoick would make 15 saves in the second frame to keep his team in the game.

In the third the Gamblers continued to rely on Van Schoick (16 saves in the 3rd) as they were looking very tired with only two lines although Tuck only had two lines as well. The Gamblers Max Woods was able to put his team up 3-2 on his goal with 9:08 left in the period. Tuck would tie the game up less then a minute later as Brodie Stone would win the face off by walking around the Gamblers center and then tap in a give and go with his winger Nick Hunnewell at 8:19. With the scored tied at 3-3 Tuck keep the pressure on the Gamblers who looked very tired at this point. Tuck's Gillian Apps would give Tuck their first lead of the night with her goal at 6:56. The Gamblers would generate a few more chances but Tuck would hold on to win the game 4-3 and advance to their 7 championship game in 8 years.
