Labatt Looks to give Tuck the Blues

The powerhouse Labatt Blues team hasn't had much trouble this season as they've amassed an impressive 9-1-1 record and a 27 goal differential in just 11 games. They've dominated most of the field, yet their only loss this season comes to a youthful and tenacious Tuck team. Tuck's 4-4-0 record doesn't quite give clarity to their season as 3 of their five wins have come at the hands of the lowly, and winless, Whalers...yet they are the only team to take down the Blues this season.

Tuck's Brodie Stone is the only Tuckie in the top 10 for scoring with 11 points while the lumberjacks litter the top 10 list with five players. TJ Moran leads the UVHL with 17 points while Tyler White(14pts), Bart Moran(13pts), Matthew DelGiudice(11pts) and Mike Anderson(11pts) close out the top 10.

The Blues' lead the league with only 22 goals allowed due to the stellar play of Jay Seals between the pipes. Tuck's Lindsay Holdcroft has been outstanding as she's darted around her crease like a waterbug en route to a very respectable 2.67 GAA.

This should be a great game, can Tuck take down the Blues again?

In the late game we had the Blues hosting Tuck. The Blues have been cruising through the league all year long and their only loss in regulation was to Tuck. Tuck showed up to play tonight as they have all since they came back from break in January. Both teams would have some great chances as the period went on but it was the Blues Bart Moran who would put the Blues up 1-0 on a PP goal with 5:47 remaining in the period. The period would end with the Blues leading 1-0 heading into the second period.

In the second period the Blues would continue to pepper Tuck's Lindsay Holdcroft until they Mike Anderson was able to beat her with a hard low shot to put the Blues up 2-0 at the 12:16 mark. After going down 2-0 Tuck would pick up their play and it was Pat Doherty who would get Tuck on the scoreboard with a twisted wrister from the top of the circle at 8:48. After giving up a goal the Blues would take two penalties and it was on the second penalty that Tuck make the Blues pay as Gillan Apps would tie the game at 2-2 with 46 seconds left in the second period. The period would come to an end with the score tied at 2-2.

In the third both teams would get a lot of good looks but neither team was able to get the games next goal. Both goalies would make some huge saves to keep the score tied but none was bigger then the Blues Jay Seals with 2:50 left in the game as he would make two big saves, the first on a shoot and the second was on the rebound. The game would end in a 2-2 tie which meant we would go to a 3 man shoot out.

Tuck: Andrew Cox skates in fast and tries to get Seals moving, shoots five hole, save Seals! 1-0 Blues
Blues: Mike Anderson skates in takes a hard low shot, save stick side. 1-0 Blues coming down to the last shooter!
Tuck: Pat Doherty skates in and shoots, save Seals, the Blues win the shoot out 1-0!!!
