In the first game of the 2018-19 season we had the defending champs Tuck taking on the Whalers. The first period was not very busy one from a scoresheet side of things as both teams adjusted to new teammates and for some players it was their first time out on the ice for the season. The period ended with the score tied 0-0 as Tuck had 8 shots and the Whalers had 9 shots in the first.

In the second period things started to pick up as the Whalers took their first two pentalies of the year and Tuck made them pay for it on the second penatly.  Tuck would go up 1-0 on a power play goal from Jesse Kligman about half way through the second period (7:10).  The period would end with Tuck leading 1-0 after two periods of play although the shots increased again for both teams.

In the third period Tuck came out hungry and grabbed a 2-0 lead on a goal from Nick Hunnewell at 12:42.  After going up 2-0 Tuck would take two penalites (one with 6:14 remaining and one with 2:53 remaining) but the Whalers couldn't find a way to beat Lindsay Holdcroft as she was a brick wall.  Tuck would go up 3-0 on a goal from Chris  Mahoney with 3:55 left in the game and Brent Bates woiuld score a shorthanded goal with 1:02 remaining to make the final score 4-0 Tuck.

Both teams looked well once they got the rust off their skates and both goalies played really well tonight as Tuck's Lindsay Holdcroft had a 37 save shut out and the Whaler's Kenny Lallier made 27 saves.
