In the second semifinal game of the night we have the #2 seed Jacks hosting the #3 seed Gamblers. These two teams have split the season series 2-2, the most recent game was this past Tuesday when the Jacks put a thumping on the Gamblers (8-3). Look for this weeks game to be much closer and depending on who shows up for each team the game could go either way. Given the past beating the Jacks gave the Gamblers the edge goes to the Jacks, Jacks will win this game by the score of 3-2.

In the second semifinal game of the night we have the #2 seed Jacks hosting the #3 seed Gamblers. The game started out with quick goal from the Jacks Nico Brands just 44 seconds into the game. The Gamblers would tighten up their defense after giving up a quick goal and push back on the Jacks but they were not able to get anything past the Jacks Ryan Libby. The Jacks would go up 2-0 on a goal from Joe Gaudet with 4:20 left in the period. Gaudet would another quick goal just 24 seconds to put the Jacks up 3-0 after one period of play. Although the Jacks were up 3-0 the shots were even at 10 to 10.

In the second both the Gamblers came out hungry looking for their first goal which didn't happen right away but their hard work got them a power play chance early in the period. On that power play Travis Hutchins would put the Gamblers on the board with a PP goal with 12:37 left in the period making the score 3-1 Jacks. The Gamblers kept the pressure on the Jacks and Troy Miller would make the score 3-2 as he would score at 10:39. The Gamblers were buzzing off their two quick goals and Will Meyer would tie the score up at 3-3 with 7:16 left in the period. The period would end with the score tied at 3-3 and again the shots were close as the Blues had 12 and the Gamblers had a 11.

In the third with the score tied at 3-3 both teams were putting the pressure on trying to get the games next goal and as we got later in the period both teams were working hard to get that next goal. The teams would trade power play chances with less then 6 minutes left in the game but it wasn't until 2:43 when the Jacks Tyler Dewdney would put them up 4-3. The Gamblers would pull their goalie with a 1:30 or so left in the game but they couldn't score with the extra skate. The Jacks Nico Brands would score an empty netter with 12 seconds left to secure the Jacks spot in the Whalen Cup final with a 5-3 win.
