In the second game of the night we had the Whalers hosting the Blues. The Blues would get on the scoreboard first on a goal from Tim Barrett at 13:45. The Blues would then go up 2-0 on a PP goal from Tim McAuliffe who sniped a no angle shot upstairs past the Whalers Kenny Lallier. Although the Whalers were down 2-0 early in the period they would keep fighting back and they would finally get a goal from Ryan Quinn with 31 seconds left in the period to have the period come to an end with the Blues up by the score of 2-1.
In the second period the Whalers came out with momentum on their side and they would tie the score on a Ben Rouillard penalty shot at the 11:49 mark. Shortly after the score was tied at two the Whalers would take a penalty and the Blues would regain the lead on a PP goal by Mike Anderson at 8:33. The Blues then kept their foot on the gas pedal as Tim Sharek would put them up 4-2 with 7:40 remaining. The period would end with the Blues up 4-2 heading into the third.
In the third the Whalers wasted no time getting within one goal as Dillan Pierce would score 12 seconds into the period and make the score 4-3 Blues. The Whalers kept pressing for the game tying goal but it was the Blues Taylor Porrier that would put the Blues up 5-3 with 6:05 remaining. The game would come to an end with the Blues winning the game 5-3 and remaining in first place well head of everyone else in the league with a 5-1 record.
