In the second game of the night we had the Labatt Blues hosting the Lumberjacks, both teams came back with slightly changed rosters. The first period started out with both teams going back and forth exchanging chances but it was the Blues would finally break through at the 5:48 mark on a Brian Smith goal to put the Blues up 1-0. The Blues would strike again this time it was Garren Porrier with 2:40 remaining in the period. The Jacks would cut the score in half on a goal from Evan Seely's shot from the point at the 1:35 mark. The period would come to an end with the Blues ahead 2-1.
In the second period the Jacks were buzzing off their late goal and it would pay off as Sean Murphy would tie the game at 11:29. The score would remain tied (2-2) until the Blues Tyler White scored on a pretty 2 on 1 with 2:03 remaining in the period. The Blues would head into the third period up by the score of 3-2.
In the third the Jacks would keep the pressure on the Blues, but it would be the Blues who would end up going up 4-2 on a goal from Mike Anderson with 12:10 to play in the game. The Jacks didn't give up as Jordan McGee would make the score 4-3 with 4:50 remaining but then Blues newcomer Tim McAuliffe would answer right back to put the Blues up 5-3 with 3:31 remaining. Tim Patten of the Jacks wasted no time getting his Jacks back within one goal as he would score just 20 seconds later (3:10) but that is as close as it would get for the Jacks as they couldn’t' capitalize on two late power play chances and the Blues won 5-4.
