In the second game of the night we have the Whalers hosting the Blues. The Whalers come into this week off after forfeiting last week and the Blues are coming off a bye week. These two teams last meet before December and a lot has happened since then, look for the Blues to get the lead early and go on to win this game by the score of 8-2.

In the second game of the night we have the Whalers hosting the Blues. The Whalers come into this week after forfeiting last week and the Blues are coming off a bye week. The Blues showed up with a full roster while the Whalers only showed up with 8 guys as they have been struggling for the last couple week to have good numbers.  The Blues came out fast and in result forced the Whalers to take a penalty. On the PP the Blues wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Mike Anderson would make the score 1-0 at 12:53.  The Whalers would answer back at 10:49 on a goal from Ryan McGovern. The score would remain tied until the Whalers Peter Scalia sent a pass out to the front of the net; it hit a Blues defender and into the back of the net to give the Whalers a 2-1 lead.  Although the Blues gave up a late goal they would continue to play hard, the Blues would tie the game at 2 with 13 seconds left in the period on a goal from Brian Smith.  The period would end with the score tied 2-2. 

In the second the Blues would take a penalty early in the period but it was the Blues Mike Anderson who would net his second of the night (shorthanded) at 13:15 to put the Blues up 3-2. The score would remain 3-2 until 7:49 when the Blues Tyler White would make the score 4-2.  The Blues would take three more penalties but the Whalers couldn't get anything going on the PP; however the Blues would score their second shorthand goal of the game at 2:12 by TJ Moran to put the Blues up 5-2 heading into the third period. 

In the third the Blues TJ Moran would score his second of the game at 9:15 mark to put the Blues up 6-2.  The Blues didn't stop their as Jason Rasco would make the score 7-2 with 8:41 remaining in the game. The Whalers Roger Phillips  would make the score 7-3 at 6:56 but that was as close as the Whalers would get. The Blues went on to win by the score of 7-3, with the win the Blues finished in second place and will host Tuck (#3 seed) next week in the second semifinal game.  With the loss the Whalers were to play in the "play in" game but they had to forfeit due to not having enough guys for the game.
