In the first game of the night we had the Whalers hosting the Gamblers. The Whalers showed up with a full roster meanwhile the Gamblers were only able to muster up 8 players and a goalie. The Gamblers were able to jump out to a quick 1-0 led as Will Meyer blasted a slapper by Lallier at the 11:08 mark. The Gamblers kept the pressure on and Max Woods would extend the lead to 2-0 at 9:48. The Whalers would battle back on a goal from Scott Shaw at 8:43 to make the score 2-1. Although the Whalers cut the lead in half the Gamblers would score a minute and thirty seconds later on a goal from Dave Sutton to make the score 3-1 with 7:13 remaining in the period. The period would end with the score 3-1 although the Gamblers had a bunch more chances to extend their lead.
The Gamblers came out just as hungry in the second as Topo LaCroix would make the score 4-1 just 51 seconds into the period. The Whalers would get some scoring chances but it was the Gamblers Dave Sutton who put the Gamblers up 5-1 with 11:01 left in the period. The Whalers Scott Shaw would get his second of the night at 10:22 in the period to make the score 5-2. The score would stay remain 5-2 until 1:07 left in the period when Max Woods would be awarded a penalty shot, Max would score on the penalty shot and make the score 6-2 putting the Gamblers in full command of this game heading into the third.
In the third the Whalers came out hungry and 34 seconds into the period it looked like the Whalers had scored a goal but it was ruled no goal by the referee's, this made the already frustrated Whalers even more frustrated! The Gamblers kept the pressure on and Max Woods would net his third goal of the night with 12:34 remaining to make the score 7-2. The Gamblers Dave Sutton would make the score 8-2 with his third goal of the night as well with 3:54 remaining as the Gamblers went on to win this game 8-2.
