In the first game of the night we have the Gamblers (2-2) hosting the Whalers (0-3). The Gamblers come into tonight off a 6-2 win over the Blues, the Whalers come into tonight off another bye week. The Whalers are winless this year but look for them to put up a good fight against the Gamblers, however the Gamblers will win this game by the score of 5-2.

In the first game of the night we had the Gamblers hosting the winless Whalers. The Gamblers came out in the opening period and went up 1-0 on a goal from Matt Marrazzo 30 seconds into the game. The Whalers quickly regrouped and picked up their play so they wouldn't give up any more quick goals. The Whalers would keep the pressure on the Gamblers which lead them to a power play, on the PP Cody Steadman would score with 3:35 left in the period to tie the game at 1-1.  The Whalers would then get another quick goal from Scotty Shaw with 1:11 left in the period to take a 2-1 lead heading into the second period. 

In the second period the Gamblers Matty Marrazzo would tie the score at 2-2 on his second goal of the night at the 11:41 mark in the period.  The Gamblers would go up 3-2 on a goal from Max Woods with 7:34 remaining in the period.  The Whalers Cody Steadman would answer back with his second goal of the night making the score 3-3 with 4:54 left in the period.  50 seconds after giving up the tying goal the Gamblers found themselves in the box again as the second period saw 6 penalties between the two teams.  On the PP the Whalers Peter Scalia would put the Whalers up 4-3 with 3:44 left in the period; the period would end with the score 4-3 Whalers. 

In the third period things continued to be rough between the two teams as each team would draw two penalties a piece playing 3 on 3 hockey, neither team would score but they both had chances. As play returned to 5 on 5 the Gamblers were able to tie the score at 4-4 on a goal from Dave Sutton with 9:41 left in the period.  The Gamblers would then get a power play chance and Christian Machelski would let a slapper go from the point to put the Gamblers up 5-4 with 5:57 left in the period. The Gamblers would then take another penalty to give the Whalers a chance to tie the game up, on the power play the Whalers Dillan Pierce would tie the game up at 5-5 with 4:58 remaining.  With the score tied both teams pressed to get the go ahead goal and it was the Gamblers Luke Webster that would notch the game winner with 2:40 left to play, the Gamblers would go on to win the game 6-5.
