ODDS: | Tuck by 1 |
OVER/UNDER: | 7 |
In the final game of the night we have the Gamblers taking on defending champs Tuck. The Gamblers come into tonight off a 7-3 win over the Whalers. The Gamblers played very solid hockey and should be even strong this week as they were missing four guys last week. Tuck comes into this week after a superb win over the Nords. Tuck returned a good core from last years team minus Jed McDonald, that%u2019s OK though as Tuck has picked up four new guys who should be able to help them keep on pace for their fourth championship in a row. This game will be a very even match and could go either way if the Gamblers stay out of the box. Tuck will take this one late in the third and win the game 4-3.
In the final game of the night we have the Gamblers taking on defending champs Tuck. The Gamblers came into tonight off a 7-3 win over the Whalers, whereas Tuck comes into this week after a blowout win over the Nords. This game started out with a fast pace as both teams came ready to play, it was Tuck who got on the board first when Jered Pomerance opened the scoring at 13:45. With Tuck up 1-0 the Gamblers were able to get a power play but it was short lived as the Gamblers took a penalty to take away that chance. The play would continue back and forth, as the period went on the Gamblers were getting better and they would eventually score four straight goals. The Gamblers tied the game at 1-1 when Max Woods scored at 6:27 after being set up on some nice passing from line mate"s Topo and Ryan LaCroix. The Gamblers Max Woods would score his second of the night at 5:01 with the assist to Ben Peters. The Gamblers would score just 31 seconds later this time it was Alex Doods on the backdoor which was set up by Max Woods. The Gamblers forth goal was scored by Ryan LaCroix when his brother Topo set him up at 3:15 to put the Gamblers up 4-1. Although the Gamblers were able to score four quick goals Tuck was able to get one more goal late in the period when Mark Rautiola put one past Ryan Van Schoick with 2:17 left in the period. The period would end with the Gamblers up 4-2. The first period ended with Tuck"s Dan Rosen having 10 saves and the Gamblers Ryan Van Schoick finishing with 7 saves.
In the second period the first five minutes of the period were back and forth but Tuck had sustained a good fore-check on the Gamblers, which lead to the Gamblers to start running around and taking penalties. The Gamblers first penalty came at 9:16 mark but they were able to kill it off, it was the second penalty that they couldn"t kill as Tuck"s Markus Widell would score at 3:44 on the PP. With the score 4-3 Gamblers Tuck kept the pressure on and it paid off just 44 seconds later as they tied the game at 4 on Mark Rautiola"s second of the night. The period would end with the score tied 4-4 and the Gamblers Van Shoick would finish the period with 13 saves while Tucks Rosen had 8 saves.
In the third period the Gamblers came out strong and wanting the games next goal as it was anyone"s game. The Gamblers Jason Gramling would put a tip on a Topo LaCroix shot at 13:46 to put the G-men up 5-4. There was a lot of hockey still left to play and just 40 seconds later the Gamblers found themselves back in the box and putting Tuck on the PP. While Tuck was on the power play, Topo LaCroix blocked a shot from the point, Topo raced in on a breakaway against Tuck"s Rosen and while he was shooting he got ripped down by Tuck"s Shawn Curley (a smart penalty). Topo was award a penalty shot; Topo took his own penalty shot but he was unable to put a triple deke past Rosen. The Gamblers would kill off the rest of their penalty without giving up a goal but then the Gamblers took another penalty to give Tuck another PP. However while on the Tuck was on the PP, Tuck took a penalty of their own and ended their power play. The rest of the period was Tuck taking shots from everywhere on the Gamblers Ryan Van Schoick but Van Schoick was hot tonight and not letting another goal by. The Gamblers would add an empty net goal from Alex Doods (2nd of the night) with just 14 seconds left to seal the win for the G-men 6-4. This was a hard fought game by both teams and the Gamblers Van Schoick was the reason they went on to win this game as he made 17 saves in the third finishing the game with 37 saves and Rosen ended the night with 25 saves.
