In the second game of the night we have Ramunto's hosting the Whalers. Ramunto's comes into this week after losing to the Lumberjacks and the Whalers are coming off a hard fought 5-4 loss to the top seed Tuck. The Whalers started the game out pressing hard and looking to get on the scoreboard early. The Whalers Dillan Pierce scored the game"s first goal at 10:16 after he was set up by Jason Yehle. The Whalers kept the pressure on Ramunto"s and it paid off at 8:59 when Woody Redpath put the Whalers up by two goals. Woody was able to pick a Ramunto"s break out pass, skate in on a breakaway and be Albertazzi with a snipe on his back hand. The Whalers had all the momentum now and kept it going as Jason Yehle scored at 7:16 to put the Whalers up 3-0. Ramunto"s was finally able to answer back when Jason Rasco let a shot go from the point that beat Lallier with 6:31 left in the period. Ramunto"s took a too many men penalty with 1:31 left in the period; on the insuming power play Mike Avery was able to score with just a second left on the clock to put the Whalers up 4-1.

Heading into the second period the Whalers had a commanding 4-1 lead and if they kept it up they would be cruising to their second win of the season. Ramunto"s didn"t roll over that easy as they came out hard putting a lot of shots on Lallier in the first couple minutes, then at 11:21 Justin Lawrence cut the lead to half as he was set up by line mate Matt Littler. Although Ramunto"s had cut the lead down the next ten minutes went by with no scoring as both teams had some good chances but Ramunto"s was out shooting the Whalers. Late in the period Ramunto"s was able to get the cycle going and while in the corner Tao Smith worked hard for the puck, he then turned and hit TJ Moran in the slot who beat Lallier with a shot low on the ice with just a 1:28 to go in the period. Ramunto"s was slowly gaining momentum back and they were able to tie the game with just 7 seconds left in the period when Matt Littler beat Lallier from the slot. Heading into the third period the score was 4-4.

In the third period both teams had some chances in the first 5-6 minutes but it wasn"t until 8:01 that Dan Charette put Ramunto"s in the lead for the first time all night. Charette skated the puck out of his d-zone and dropped the puck for Jason Mikula, Mikula then passed to TJ Moran who eventually got the puck back to Charette for the goal. With Ramunto"s up 5-4 both teams still had plenty of chances but it wasn"t until 1:24 left in the period that Ramunto"s Tao Smith put the puck past Lallier with a twister wrister to put Ramunto"s up 6-4. The Whalers won the faceoff and put the puck deep so they could pull Lallier. Although the Whalers got the puck deep Ramunto"s was able to break the puck out and Dave Willis put the game out of reach with an empty net goal, 7-4 Ramuntos.
