ODDS: | Tuck by 2 |
OVER/UNDER: | 6 |
In the final game of the night we have the Whalers hosting Tuck. The Whalers come into this week after winning their first game of the year. Tuck comes into this game off a convincing 5-1 win over Ramuntos. The Whalers will be riding the high after winning their first game of the season but Tuck is very deep and will be too much for the Whalers. Look for Tuck to win this game 4-2 as they continue to prove to the rest of the league why they are number one.
In the final game of the night we have the Whalers hosting Tuck who is the number one seed in the league. The Whalers come into this week after winning their first game of the year against the Nords last week. Tuck comes into this game off a convincing 5-1 win over Ramunto's. The started with a goal just 30 seconds into the game when Jed McDonald was set up by Hugh Jessiman to put Tuck up 1-0. After giving up a quick goal you would think it could be a long night for the Whalers, the Whalers went on to control the play for most of the period and fired shots at Dan Rosen from all angles. Although Tuck was being out played they were able to get the games next goal with about four minutes left in the period when Jed McDonald again was set up by Jessiman and Marcus Widell to put Tuck up 2-0. The Whalers kept coming at Tuck even being down 2-0 and at 2:32 James Kerrigan took a shot that deflected off a Tuck players stick then went on to hit a Tuck defenseman in front of the net, then it jumped passed Rosen as he couldn"t keep up with all the deflections. The period ended with Tuck leading 2-1.
The second period saw the Whalers come out looking to tie the game as they continued to pressure Tuck in their defensive end. The Whalers newcomer Sam Bailer was able to tie the game at 10:04 mark in the period to make the score 2-2. Tuck would then pick up their play and start to take it to the Whalers; just three minutes later Tuck"s Marcus Widell would put Tuck up 3-2 as he was set up by Will Collins and Mark Rautiola. Both teams would continue to exchange chances but it was Tuck who would get the games next goal with 2:03 left in the period from Will Collins as he was set up by Hugh Jessiman (his third assist of the night). The period would end with Tuck up 4-2 heading into the third period.
In the third period the Whalers wouldn"t give up as they continued to fight to stay in the game, as Tuck was trying to break out of the zone the Whalers Woody Redpath picked the puck off a Tuck break out pass. As he gained control of the puck there was nobody between him and Rosen. Woody skated in on a breakaway pulled the puck across the top of the crease to his backhand and beat Rosen with a backhand shot to make the score 4-3 with ten minutes left in the period. Tuck would answer back though just two minutes later when John Dawson beat Lallier with a shot from the center slot as Rautiola and Collins worked the put out of the corner to Dawson who was uncovered in the slot. This goal put Tuck up 5-3 with 8 minutes left in the game however the Whalers would answer right back just 40 seconds later on a Mike Avery goal to make the score 5-4. Tuck would continue to put shots on Lallier but like the game before he played in, he wouldn"t allow another goal. Tuck would hold on to win the hard fought game 5-4.
