In the second game of the night we have the 1st place Jacks hosting 2nd place Tuck. The Jacks come into this week after an impressive third period come back to bet the Nords 2-1 last week. Tuck comes into this week after a hard fought 5-1 win over the Gamblers. Tuck has been on a roll since coming back from the holiday break and having a full roster. The Jacks came out in the first taking it to Tuck and peppering Alex Kremer (who was in net for Dan Rosen). Tuck who only showed up with two lines find themselves not ready for that kind of pressure and took a penalty early in the game at 13:37. On the next faceoff Christian Henault won the face off back to Gary Laperle who fired a shot from the top of the circle and Tim Patten was able to put home the rebound as the Jacks only need 3 seconds on the power play. This has to be a record in the UVHL for the fast goal scored on a power play, it happened in a blink of an eye. Tuck didn"t let that slow them down as they took possession on the next face off and pressured in the Jacks end. The Jacks ended up taking a penalty and giving Tuck a chance to tie the game. On the ensuing power play, Tuck was able to get control of the puck and set up in the Jacks end, after thirty seconds of passing in the Jacks end Tucks Marcus Widell hit Hugh Jessiman who set up Will Collins back door to tie the game at the 10:40 mark. The next eight minutes saw up and down action in both ends but neither team could get the games next goal. Then with 2:30 left in the period the Jacks Sean Murphy was able to give the Jacks the lead as Gary Laperle and Jordan McGee set him up. The period ended with the Jacks up 2-1 but both goalies played really well, Zach Lary finished with 15 saves and Tuck"s Alex Kremer finished with 8.

The second period started with Tuck picking up the pace and looking to get back into the game. Tuck was able to tie the game at 12:13 when Jed McDonald scored as he was set up by line mate Will Collins. Tuck continued to pressure the Jacks and they were able to beat Lary again at 8:46 when Will Collins got his second of the night from line mates Jed McDonald and Hugh Jessiman to put Tuck up 3-2. Although Tuck was up 3-2 Kremer helped keep Tuck ahead as the Jacks were getting shots just not getting many by him. Tuck got the games next goal when Hugh Jessiman scored at 4:02 in the period after being set up by Will Collins and Jed McDonald. With Tuck up 4-2 late in the period the Jacks were able to get within one as Gary Laperle put the rebound past Kremer with a 1:38 left in the period. The period ended Tuck up 4-3 and both goalies played well keeping this game close (Lary had 6 saves and Kremer had 10).

The third period was quiet when it came to scoring, both teams had plenty of chances but neither could get the puck pass each goalie. Tuck gave the Jacks a power play early in the period but they couldn"t get anything past Kremer to tie the game. Tuck got the game"s final goal with just 2 seconds left in the game as Will Collins scored his third of the night on an empty net. Kremer was superb in the third stopping all 12 shots he faced and Lary stopped 6. Will Collins and Alex Kremer had huge nights, Will Collins had 3g and 2a, meanwhile Alex Kremer got better as the game went on and he finished the night with 30 saves.
