Tuck Advances To Finals With 5-3 Win Over Whalers

A hell of a matchup and a hell of a game between the #2 Tuckerdoodles and #5 Whalers. Tuck was a 2 goal favorite coming into this game and after a tight first period, jumped out to a big 5-1 lead after the Whaler's Kenny "The Goatee" Lallier let in a pair of softies, but the Whalers bounced back in the third and made this a game. You could feel the Whaler's desperation and Tuck's complacency with a 5-1 lead, thinking they could sit back and collect the win.

In the end the difference may have been the 20 fans that Tuck brought to the game. The Whalers had zero fans and that is probably due to poor team management and marketing.

Tuck had another fine performance from Mike "Wine & Dine" Devine and a pair of goals from Brandon "The Harry One" Harrington. Sam "Big Fish" Pond had a pair of goals as well and also added an assist for the 3rd star nomination.

With the win, Tuck advances to the finals next week against the high powered Gamblers.

TCK - 1-0 - Harrington camped out to Lallier's left, point shot from Seely lands on his stick, puts it upstairs...VERY QUICKLY.

NOTE - FIRST PERIOD was a bit slow. Very few whistles and constant flow but only 14 shots in the period and one goal. This was clearly two teams feeling each other out, neither wanting to make a mistake in their QUEST FOR THE WHALEN CUP!!!!!

NOTE - I'm not sure if it's the ice or the players but we've had 10-12 instances where players just fall down...nobody around them.

WHL 1-1 - McGee lateral drop pass to Pierce at the blue line, Pierce takes a stride with the puck and lets one rip from the top of the circles...5-Holio on Devine.

TCK 2-1 - Faceoff to Lallier's right, puck gets won back to the Wannop at the point, he moves it across the blueline to Devooght who throws a snapper high through a screen, catches a piece of a Whaler and over Lallier.

TCK 3-1 - From deep in his own zone, Mike Nowak fires the puck up the near boards to Harrington cutting through the neutral zone.

NOTE - Lallier makes a huge save on his team mate Woody Redpath with 12:12 to play after redpath tips a Tuck pass right into his goaltenders pads.

NOTE - The Whaler's are giving it all as Dan "Mustard Gas" McGee lays down to block a pass with 10:39 to play

TCK - 4-1 - Lallier lets in a softie from the point, just a simple wrister that breaks off his stick and 5-hole.

TCK - 5-1 - Lallier lets in a softie from the point...ok, almost the same play. A turnover high in the Whaler's zone was thrown on net by Pond, off Lallier's glove and in...must hav been going 38 MPH

WHL - 5-2 - Pass from behind the net to McGee who found Redpath back side

WHL - 5-3 - Gaudet hits McGee crashing the net, McGee makes a nice little tip short side on Devine

NOTE - Devine comes up HUGE with 90 seconds to play on 4 ginormous saves. #MONSTERINNET...Devine makes 7 saves in under a minute as the Whalers are throwing everything at the net, screening Devine and jumping on the rebounds.
