Dead River @ Whalers
ODDS: | Whalers By 5 Goals |
OVER/UNDER: | 11 Goals |
The Whalers have dominated the Dead Riverians this season, winning all 4 games. They have outscored Dead River 33-9 and notched 11 goals in two of those wins. Last time these two met, Dead River played solid defense but still fell 5-2. Since that game, they've added some depth and cut some dead weight. Will it make a difference, probably not.
The Whalers sit in 5th(Out of 6) and Dead River in dead last....Dead River in Dead Last. Dead River has let up an AMAZING 839 shots in 20 games...that's 42 shots per game. They've only managed to put 492 on net in that same period which is under 25 shots per game. The Whale leads the league with 116 goals in 20 games on 700 shots while allowing 769. Both teams give up plenty of shots and that's why Kenny "Whale Tale" Lallier and Matty "The Eagle" Crowson have the highest GAA in the UVHL. Lots of shots, lots of rebounds, little defense.
The Whalers roster the most dynamic player in the UVHL this season in Joey "Red Light" Gaudet who's 60 points in 15 games is the pace-car for the league. The Whalers have 4 players in the top 10 in scoring. Joining Gaudet is Shaw(43), Redpath(39) & Zanleoni(33 pts).
Dead River doesn't have any players in the top 30 but Trevor "Wrecking Ball" Billings leads the league with 18 PIMs...so there's that.
Crowson has been outstanding as of late and despite his high GAA, has kept his team competitive the last few weeks. Crowson will need to be at his best to keep this one close and he may be able to do that for 2 periods, but the Whaler's will be like a blue wave and engulf DR 8-3.
