Tuck Aims To Stay Perfect Against Powerhouse Gamblers.

Common sense would tell you that the Tuck Flying Jackalopes should easily take home a win against the Gamblers in week 3. The Nordiques beat the Gamblers 4-3 in week 1 and then Tuck beat the Nordiques 6-4 in week 2. Sure, that math adds up to a Tuck win on Tuesday night, but the Gamblers are a much better team than they showed in week 1.

That being said, Tuck is solid and showed that beating a pretty solid Nordiques team. Brandon "Harry Eggs" Harrington was a one man show, netting a hat trick and an assist, and their goaltender Mike Devine came up big when needed.

The Gamblers dominated the reigning Whalen Cup Champion Whalers last week 7-4. Their captain Willy "Weeble" Meyer has put up 6 points in the first two games and leads the team in all categories including grumpiness.

If the Gambler's can get Dan "Danimal" Ammel and his gimpy ankle moving, this game will swing in their favor. Tuck doesn't seem to have a true defenseman rostered, and the MMA line will take advantage of that.

Tuck Stuns Gamblers, 3-2 in Shootout

TCK 1-0 - That was fast! After winning the draw and getting possession, Tuck had 2 offensive chances before regrouping in their own end. Peter Mellen fed Harrington at teh blue line, and then Harry proceeded to carry the puck to the near post, it looked like an innocent shot from in close, but Harrington muscled the puck 5-hole from a foot away with only 38 seconds gone.

NOTE: @ 10:40, Bergeron picks up speed in his own end and goes shore to shore like Bobby Orr. A nice inside-out move on the defenseman just inside Tuck's blueline, cuts to the net and throws a weak flip shot on Mike "Wine & Dine" Devine to ruin the whole fucking thing.

NOTE: After the early goal the Gamblers have bounced back with 8 straight shots on Devine.

TUCK 2-0 - 8:29 - a nice scoring opportunity by Topo "Thing 1" LaCroix in Tuck's end goes the other way with Harrington leading the charge. Harrington cuts around LaCroix at center ice, dishes the puck to John "The Curator" Curran at the far faceoff dots and takes a slapper, saved by Ryan "Van Wilder" Van Schoik. Harrington is there to jam home the rebound.

NOTE: One thing is evident, the Gamblers look lost without Allison "Captain Hook" Malcolm on the ice.

NOTE: 3:44 Willy "Weeble" Meyer takes a drop pass outside the zone from Matty "The Milkman" Marrazzo. With speed, Meyer burns the Tuck defenseman and cuts to the net, only to be poke checked by Devine.

NOTE: 3:02 - Marc "The Narc" Gattie takes a breakout pass in the neutral zone, heads up center ice and toe-drags a Tuck defenseman before sliding the puck under Devine, ringing off the opposite post...no goal.

GMB 1-2 - Thing 1(Topo) gets a Tuck turnover at the tops of the circles in his own zone, feels that brother vibe that only twins can feel and fires a breakaway pass to Thing2(Goose) right at the blue line, goes in and gives Devine a shimmy shake to the backhand and deposits the puck 5-HOLIO.

NOTE: 12:58 - Van Schoik stops McCafferty on a breakaway, dragging the foot.

NOTE: At 7:04 Van Schoik stops Tuck all alone in the slot, the puck turns up ice and Meyer gets a semi-breakaway, cutting around a defenseman to the front of the net, he had Devine beat but lost control on the shot.

NOTE: There is a season high 12 fans in the stands! I think they are all related to Meyer, his cousin Daryl, and his other cousin Daryl.

END OF THE SECOND PERIOD: Tuck 2, Gamblers 1. Devine(TCK) 29 saves, Van Schoik(TCK) 21 Saves

NOTE: Myer is Breakaway challenged

GMB 2-2 - Dodds blasts away from the point, off the end boards back out to Gattie on the point, one-timer along the ice

NOTE: Thing 1 makes some nifty moves all along the perimeter, works his way out to the point and fires a wicked pissah slapshot off his brothers ass in front of the net. Thing2 takes the "pass" off his ass and throws it at the empty net where Devine is flopping like a beached codfish, but he throws out the stick to keep the game tied at 2.
