| Three Periods Needed Dec 6th, 2011 10:32 AM
I can't believe this Dead River team is 0-7-0. I mean, they aren't usually at the top of the standings, but they're usually in most games. I'd hate to give them their first win, but expect they'll bring it.
You never know when Feiden might stand on his head for the whole game. The key for us will probably be getting to "1st Period" during the second and third, like we did in the last meeting. If we can't, he could steal this one, especially if DR brings a full bench. GamblinWoodie Lebanon, NH

Official response from the Feiden camp is that he's geeking out at a science conference in CA, however multiple unconfirmed rumors are swirling that he's receiving zen buddhist training at an undisclosed location in Northern Saskatchewan.
I'll be filling in for the night, likely nullifying any chance they had at putting a 1 in the win column. JTStally Hanover, NH

Well then, let me put $5 down on the Whalers giving 4 and $10 on Over 6 goals before Parky adjusts the numbers! Haha! (I don't know though, four goals is a lot to win by in this league.) | Good Effort by DR Dec 7th, 2011 07:10 PM
We didn't bring our A-game and we got beat by a team that played better than us, plain and simple. As I said, I was surprised Dead River hadn't won yet and we became their first victim, unfortunately. O well, we'll have to play better next week, if we want to win games in this league! rgrunds Stowe, VT

| Marshy's own end? Dec 12th, 2011 02:25 PM
"Marsh was excellent in the game as he compiled a trio of assists and solidified the blue line, a tough task for a forward who rarely enters his own defensive end."
From what I hear, all kinds of things enter "his own end".

SO true, Park! Marshy: a forward who rarely enters his own defensive end. And he thinks about playing D? Lets get Marshy off our Nordiques PK first, and then and only then could he think about playing D in the B League or Thursday morning. Lets keep our big winger doing what he does best: waist-high passes and big blasts from the top of the circle.

You all can suck suck a fart, right outta my ass. Grundy, there is nothing going anywhere but OUT of my ass..and McD, my presence on the PK is fine..I come on the ice, 45 secs..skate like hell and OFF! When was the last time you saw me make a mistake that caused us a goal against? IN an attempt to whip it around the boards, you nearly scored on our OWN net last night! All in good fun boys, I DO like playing D,but I know I need more practice learning the position..don't worry, not gonna make the switch to D just yet...we HAVE a good D...but practice is good, and fun for a change..Grundy, when you comin to the area again? I could use a few more comedic points in the write ups after another swiss-cheese performance from the Grund-meister. rgrunds Stowe, VT

Now you just better retreat to your room with a primal cut of beef and think about things. Everyone will be here when you're ready to come out.

You mean you don't remember at least ONE little old playoff game a few years ago that we lost as a direct result of your PK prowess? I do. So does JT. So does Kelly. We're still pissed off about it, too. Skating like hell chasing guys who aren't scoring threats and getting out of position is NOT a good PK!
If playing D in the mornings or subbing in on DR or Tuck makes you even 10% better defensively, then I am all for it! Just don't think your PK presence in the A league is just fine - cuz it ain't. Same thing with my presence on the PP, cuz I have absolutely no business being on the point a man up unless I'm in the B league or an over 35 division. The truth hurts...but at least I apply it both ways. And yes, I misfired on that clearing attempt, and recall doing that once before a year or two ago. Luckily I didn't score my only goal of the season on JT as a result, eh.
See you on the ice, Bro. We'll be on opposite special teams, eh.

McDefense Apparently my periodic pre-game rituals have tapped out my memory, as a result I need you to tell me which game that was. I don't remember being the cause for a goal on the PK, let alone being the REASON we lost. That's pretty harsh McD, I don't consider myself a liability on the ice ANYTIME. I may not be the quickest player out there, and most times I take criticism best I can, but I honestly don't remember. The truth does hurt a bit, considering you guys are STILL pissed off apparently. Why the hell would you not have said something? The fact you guys haven't, tells me it wasn't that big of a goal to give up, or I think I'd remember it. It I water under the bridge now, but you're right the truth does hurt sometimes. I was merely entertaining the idea of getting better on D, and me practising was for myself only, not to try and put it out there that I was entitled to switch if I wanted to. Again, I think I do a decent job on the PK, but maybe I'll let someone else younger and faster chase the other team around. Then there'll be no blame on me, that no one talks about...next time speak up. | | | | | | | | | | | | |
