Tuckies @ Dead River
ODDS: | EVEN |
OVER/UNDER: | 9 Goals |
After one of the best goaltending performances of the season last week in a 7-0 loss to the Gamblers, Greg "Osama Bin" Feiden is looking to bring his hot glove to this week's action against the Tuckeroonies. Rumor has it that
Feiden was arrested in Washington D.C. and would not be able to make it to the game, but my sources have said that he is out on bail and on his way back to the upper valley as I write this article.
Both teams have struggled this season as they sit in the league basement with a combined 1-9-0 record with 25 goals scored and 70 scored against. There hasn't been much to celebrate,
Dead River Still Winless After 4-1 Loss To Tuck
The Tuckies took the first meeting between these two basement dwellers with a solid 6-4 victory, but both teams had drastically different rosters for tonight's action. Dead River had added a few players through the waiver wire and welcomed back Alexandra "Zig" Zagaria. They also utilized the defensive talents of the Whaler's Jay Zanleoni, pairing he and Zagaria together as the formidable "Big & Little Z" line.
Tuck took on two Nordiques, Ian Coates & Ryan "The Governator" McGovern, which paid of in the end. Coates had the game winning goal and an assist, and McGovern helped to solidify the blue line for the Tuckies.
Tuck scored the only goal of the first period behind a Tyson "The Mattress" Seeley feeding Kevin McCafferty with 5:12 to play.
Both goaltenders were outstanding in this one as Dead River's Greg "Osama Bin" Feiden turned away 29 of 33 shots and Tuck's Kurt Zwald stopped 26 of 27.
Tuck added the only two goals of the second period with a nice individual effort from Coates at 8:55 followed by Seeley 1:30 later. Seeley had a nice game for himself as well with a goal and assist.
Dead River played their best hockey in the third period, notting a goal just 1:55 into the frame when Greg "WAGHIP" Hadley somehow scored his second of the season. Rumor has it that he thought it was a chocolate donut and accidentally pushed it into the net.
Tuck's Captain Scotty "Too Hotty" Howard made it 4-1 to close out the scoring with 10:20 to play. Both goaltenders made some great saves to finish the game, and keep it a 4-1 win for the Tuckeroonies.

When bin Feiden makes a good save, he starts ululating. It's very unexpected.

My parole officer says I'm good for the game, should be back in town before the 1st period. If not, a trash can will likely put up just as good of numbers. However, in the case that I actually make a glove save, I will try to keep my ululating under control. I apologize before hand for any outbreaks. | |
