Kings will make Jokers of the Whalers.

The Storm Kings beat up the Whalers tonight in an 8-4 thrashing. The Kings spread the puck around well all night and threw two well balanced lines at the Whalers. The pre-game drama came from a weeks worth of battling over highly touted rookie Kyle Morin. Morin had been claimed by both the Whalers & Storm Kings, but chose to go with the 7-7-3 Storm Kings over the 6-10-1 Whalers.

You could feel the tension in the air and cut it with a dull spoon as the refs dropped the puck at 6:35pm. The Storm Kings in their default red jerseys made up of Black Hawk, Storm King & Phoenix Suns logos while the Whalers in their Navy Blues and Greg "Hepatitis C" Hadley looked slim in his vertical stripes. The Whalers did their usual, and kept it close in the beginning, but the old man hockey of the Storm Kings got the best of the tenacious Whalers just under nine minutes in. The goal came from Patty "Cakes" Turcotte from "Mean" Dean Cashman & Ian "Fish" Gill. The Kingers continued to pressure and added anotehr goal 1:33 later when Robbie "Beef Patty" Pattison roofed a snapper over the shoulder of the Whaler's Kenny "La Bisquit" Lallier. This wasn't lallier's best gameas he let in 8 goals on 40 shots, but the Storm Kings were capitalizing on every turnover by their opponents.

END OF THE FIRST: Storm Kings 2, Whale Tale 0
SAVES: French(STK) 12, Lallier(WHL) 12

The Kings added another one early from Turcotte before the Whalers finally broke through on Danny French "Fries". French was solid in tonights action as he turned away 34 of 38 shots that the Whalers threw at him. The goal came late, with 4:19 to play when Sam "Adams And" Bailey"s" after taking a nice pass from Todd "The Rat" Nallette. It took less than a minute for the Kings to bounce back when Pattison netted his 2nd of the night on his way to the hat trick. Pattison was outstanding as he used that big body of his to out muscle & position the Whalers all night. Twenty six seconds later, Ronnie "Le Petit Frenchman" Dupuis added his first of two, when Cashman took the puck from behind the net and fed Dupuis backdoor to put the Kinger's up 6-1.

END OF THE SECOND: Storm Kings 6, Whalers 1
SAVES: French(STK) 24, Lallier(WHL) 22

The Whalers came out aggressively again to start the 3rd period, but just ended up tiring themselves out. Just over 5 minutes in, Dupuis added his 2nd of the night, again from Cashman to make it 7-1 before the hardest working midget on ice, Todd Nallette, took a breakaway pass from his BFF4E, Kevin "The Luge" Louzier. Nallette put a horrific move on Frenchy, which he kicked away with glee, but Nallette managed to regain his own rebound and jam it past an outstretched Frenchman. Dupuis returned the favor to Cashman by setting him up with 3:55 to go before the Whalers added a pair late in the game to cut the lead in half, 8-4. The Whaler's goals came from the twin towers, Chuck "Norris" Gaede & Jimmy "Chocolate" LeClair. It was Leclair's 10th shot of the game and only the first one to actually come off the ice. Both goals were assisted by Bailey who has given his team a bit of an offensive punch, adding 2 goals & 3 assists in his first two games of the year.
