Tuck V. Storm

Week 6 saw two perennial powerhouse teams, Tuck & The Kingers, straighten out their sinking ships. Tuck has been plagued by injuries, offensive woes & inconsistent play, while the Storm Kings have battled inter-clubhouse bickering, inconsistent lineups & a poor-attitude problem. Both teams seemed to hammer out most of their kinks except for their goaltending as these two teams combined for 14 goals on 65 shots for a measly .745 Save Percentage. The Storm Kings big 3 were up front Ryan "Teeth" Sinclair, Bob "The Price Is Right" Barker & "Whiny" Tim Leroy and combined for 14 points on ALL EIGHT of their teams goals.

Tuck's top line of Adam "Preying" Mantin, Derek Nowak & Matt Hession weren't too shabby, combining for 9 points and contributing on 5 of their teams 6 goals. But, their 9 points weren't quite enough as the Kingers seemed to be able to, at times, score at will. Despite their defensive shortcomings, Tuck struck first just 93 seconds into the game on a Pace "Car" Ralli tally, assisted by "The Governator" Ryan McGovern. The Storm Kings top line retaliated with the next 3 goals fwith a Leroy to Barker at 12:01, followed by a Barker to Leroy to Sinclair Power Play goal with 2:56 to play and finally a Marty "White Beard" White to Dave "Peach Fuzz" Fitzgerald to Sinclair with 1:35 in the first. Tuck amassed two penalties in the period on a Matt "Nair" Adair pair, for Interference & Hooking calls. The Kinger's resident AARP carrier, Marty White took the Kinger's only call with a tripping infraction with just 33 seconds to go

END OF THE FIRST: Tuck 1, Storm Kings 3
SAVES: Fitzgerald(TCK) 10, Frenchy(STK) 8

Both teams swapped a pair of goals in the middle frame, with the Storm Kings taking the only penalty and ultimately giving up a power play goal with just 19 seconds to go. The Kinger's made it 4-2 with 7:01 to play when all-star defenseman Patty "Tug" Turcotte finished a Barker to Sinclair connection that arrived in WRJ earlier in the day. Tuck responded quickly, 33 seconds to be exact, when Drew "Spin-O-Rama" Crapser either fired a 100 MPH slapshot right along the ice on Frenchy, or did 3 spin-o-rama's lost the puck which went off of a Storm King and accidentally into the net. Actually, what may have happened is a Storm King somehow scored on his own net and Crapser just so happened to be the closest player, ergo, getting the goal. Timmy Leroy gave the Storm Kings back their 3 goal lead after depositing a pass from Fitzgerald. Tuck responded with the aforementioned power play goal with Sinclair in the box for hooking, as Mantin finished off Nowak steamer from the corner. And yes, that was supposed to sound dirty.

END OF THE SECOND: Tuck 3, Storm Kings 5
SAVES: Fitzgerald(TCK) 20, French(STK) 19

Tuck outplayed the exhausted and shorthanded Storm Kings in the 3rd, compiling 3 goals quality goals to the 3 give-mes that the Kingers amassed. The Kinger's first tally came just 70 seconds in when Timmy Leroy was hauled down on a breakaway. Leroy was awarded a penalty shot where he made Fitzgerald look like a giant wheel of melting swiss cheese. Tuck responded with a Nowak power play goal from The Govener & Mantin before Barker put Tuck back up by 3 with his 2nd of the game from Sinclair & Turcotte and only 9:27 to play. The Preying Mantin struck again shorty goal with bug-like reflexes for his 2nd goal and 4th point of the night. Down by two goals and under 3 minutes to play, Simon McKay finished another McGovern pass to bring their team within 1 only to give up an open netter to Sinclair with 18 seconds to play to close out the scoring and put this one out of reach.

END OF REGULATION: Tuck 6, Storm Kings 8
