ODDS: | Tuck by 2 goals |
OVER/UNDER: | 11.5 goals |
Tuck (7-1-0) hosts the sinking hockey ship that is know as the Brewers(4-3-1). The Brewers come into week 9 riding a 0-3 record in their last 3 after starting the season 4-0-1. There are rumors of animosity, pure evil, hatred, soberness & pure hatred coming from their clubhouse these days.
Tuck on the other hand is gelling like a finely lubed machine. Powered by Petey Hanbury, Adam Mantin & Scotty Turco, they have risen above and beyond all expectations, with a dominant 7-1 record. They look to continue their success against a team that is down and out.
The Brewers need to clean up their act in their own zone, starting with their stopper, Petey "THE REBOUND MACHINE" Bartline. From there it only gets worse with unacceptable turnovers from all in their own defensive zone. Captain Mike "The Trike" Hickey needs to read the riot act in his locker room, getting his team to button up their own zone before they can actually be successful elsewhere on the ice. Twin towers, Christian "The Floater" Isaac & Nicholas "Dr. McSelfish" Bayley need to kiss and make up in the name of good hockey and camaraderie.
Without the offensive talents of Scotty Turco, Tuck's offense will surely be down a notch, but the exceptional team play has this reporter marking them as a 2 goal favorite.
MY PREDICTION: Tuck 7 Brewers 5. Bayley with a hat trick and NO HELPERS of course, Mantin with 2 goals and 3 helpers.
Tuck buries Bartline with 40 shots en route to 3-1 win.
The 4-3-1 Brewers hosted the 7-1 Tucks in the late game this evening in what was touted as a high scoring powerhouse showdown, but all we saw was 13 shots from a sinking Brewers squad and a total of 4 goals. Tuck was looking for their 7th win in a row, while the Brewers were looking to break a 3 game losing streak.
Without their leading goal scorer, Scotty "Wicked Smaat Hahvahd Kid" Turco, the Tuck squad was doing some feeling out, trying to find their groove against a very determined Brew Crew. The Brewers on the other hand were focusing on their team game, starting with their own end. Both teams skated well, with a nice flow to the game for the first 10 minutes without anything to show for it. The Brewers finally cashed in their chips with 3:13 remaining in the first when Christian "Bayley's Arch Nemesis" Isaac put his own rebound in from the right side of the mid-slot after taking a pass. The only other notable in the first was that Chris "Common Sense" Johnson took 3 penalties in the same shift when he slashed a Tuck in the offensive zone, tripped a Tucker in the defensive zone and then chirped at Carl on his way to the box for a misconduct.
END OF THE FIRST: Brewers 1, Tuck 0. SHOTS: Brewers 5, Tuck 11.
The second period started out pretty much the same, until Mike Adair took a pass from Brian "Waterbug" Fleming, and took the puck to the net beating Petey "Horseshoe" Bartline with a nice backhander halfway up the glove side. Petey "Happy Hands" Hanbury put the Tuckeroonies up for good with 10:15 remaining in the 2nd when he turned on the jets crossing the blue line, split the defense and rifled one past a befuddled "Donkey Luck" Bartline. Tuck continued to dominate the 2nd period as they completely controlled the flow of play, owned the neutral zone and defended their own zone like McDermott "prison guards" his buffalo wings. I'm not quite sure who the record goes to, it could either go to Tuck for keeping the Brewers to only ONE FUCKING shot in the second period, or it could go to the Brewers for an absolutely pathetic ONE FUCKING SHOT in the 2nd period. Regardless, I'd put my life on the fact that no team has either held, or been held to a single shot in ANY PERIOD, in any game EVER in the history of this wonderful sport called hockey. Pretty damn pathetic if you ask me. Ben "The Govenor" Kennedy beat Bartleby 5-Holio from the slot on an odd man rush with 4:50 remaining in the second, for a little bit of insurance.
END OF THE SECOND: Brewers 1, Tuck 3. SHOTS: Brewers 6, Tuck 23
The third period was pretty much the same as the first, but nobody scored, the Brewers only had a dismal 5 shots instead of 7 and Tuck had 17 instead of 11. Tuck absolutely neutralized the twin towers, Bayely & Isaac, giving them absolutely no room to maneuver, play or even have fun. They always pressured hard with 2 guys, and back checked like banshees. The Brewers couldn't get anything going after the first. The entire ice always seemed to be filled with Tuckeroonies in the right places, clogging up the passing lanes and picking off passes.
END OF REGULATION: Brewers 1, Tuck 3. SHOTS: Brewers 13, Tuck 40.

| Good game to watch Dec 6th, 2007 04:33 PM
This was actually a fun game to watch. Amazing that the Brewers couldn't muster more than 13 shots. But we're playing them in 2 weeks, our goal is 14 shots! Should be fun. |
