Tuck dominates a young Bruins squad.
Tuck arrived at the Union arena early on Tuesday night. I wasn't in their locker room, but I'm sure there was a chalk talk, some group stretching, a couple of pep talks, a motivational speaker, some anabolic steriods....possibly some HGH and a high priest to lead a prayer. I also heard a rumor of a witch with a cauldron and a possible hex.
Ok, maybe none of that actually happened, but the Tuckers were out to prove that the 4-3 loss to the Leafs in week 2 was just a fluke....and they did that without a doubt. Still missing some of their core players, Tuck came out firing, and that they had to do with that giant mess of a goalie, John "Wall of mushy flesh" Chamberlain in net. Chambo has put his foot in the door of the UVHL and then kicked it straight open with a Chuck Norris round house kick and proven that he is a force to be reckoned with.
Unfortunately, the force wasn't with Chambo this night as Tuck netted 6 on him. Scottie "The Potty" Turco started the scoring just 3:15 into the game. Just 47 seconds later, Peter Hanbury flew into the zone and took a low slap shot that rebounded right onto Adam Mantin's stick. Turco added another on a 2-man advantage with a wrist shot from the point through traffic. The Bruins' Scottie "Cheap Trick" Fraser got the B's on the board with 3:28 remaining as he beat Fitzgerald low on a nice move into the slot.
The second period was a bit more of the same, Tuck peppering Chambo, Chambo coming up bi and the Bruins taking penalties. Greenthal added the only goal of the period on a great backhand saucer by Turks down low, Chamberlain made an even better save, before Greenthal was able to pull the rebound around him and deposited the bisquit into the proverbial basket.
I missed the 3rd period as I was getting ready my game, but Mantin added another 2 goals for hte Trick, both assisted by Hanbury. Tuck pelted Chambo with 42 shots while Fitzgerald was called upon to turn away 19.
