Potter perfect 3-0 against Leafs winning 10-2 on 3/25.
Potter Construction continued their demolition of their Mud League opponents with a 10-2 domination of the Leafs on Saturday night, even without defenseman Josh Obar, last year's playoff star Dan McGee, Player of the Week Gary Smith, Anthony Shaw, and Trey Schaft who were all at Lebanon High School hockey coach Rick Bolduc's retirement dinner. "It was more like Sunday night pick-up" Justin Barwood said about his team, "and we were able to get a better flow with only 9 players on the bench rather than 3 lines". Well fuck me offside. If Potter can dominate with 3 lines and is even better with only two, then do the rest of us stand a chance? Perhaps, and that is why we always play the game. However, on this night Potter handed it to the Leafs and just kept going. The leafs were also short on the bench for this game, but it did not work out in their favor like it did for their opponents. Missing from the leafs line-up were Justin Wing, Jason Loomis (injured), Kyle Manny and big D Alec Jessiman. However, Tim Sheehan made his yearly UVHL guest appearance while visiting his brother Ed Sheehan, but it wasn't enough to make the Leafs competitive against this Mud League powerhouse. Will Meyer scored his first of five goals at 13:49 to put Potter up early assisted by Tom Crapser and Justin Barwood. Meyer made it two in a row at 3:42 from Jason Rouillard. A flurry of scoring in the last two minutes of the first saw Gino Riffle get a legit goal at 1:54 from Barwood, and then Bruce Hathorn showed off in front of his fans scoring his first of three with 0:17 left from Kevin Guilbault to put Potter up 4-0 only to have the Leafs answer with 0:02 on the clock on Uncle Doug Heavisides' goal from Ed Sheehan to the delight of his 37 nieces and nephews in attendance to end the period at 4-1. Captain Matt Potter scored at 10:08 of the second with help from Tom Crapser and Gino Riffle. New Leaf John Thomas busted into the Potter zone past a chasing Barwood off of nice set up passes from Uncle Doug and Chip Davis to pot a beaut past a sprawled Obar on the backhand at 9:29. The Leafs went down a man at 9:03 when Fred Redden went to the box for holding, but the Leafs shut down Potter's PP attack. Hathorn and Guilbault connected for two in a row at 2:30 of the second and 7:13 of the third with Hathorn's completion of his first UVHL Hat Trick and Gilly's third lone assist on Hathorn's three goals. Batman has round his Robin! Meyer continued his quest for the scoring title and matched Coakley's 5-point night from last week with a Natural Hat Trick in 6:01. Meyer was fed by Hathorn, who proved he could also pass the puck, and Potter at 6:14. Then Meyer scored at 4:32 from Barwood, with his third assist, and Kevin Louzier, The leafs Dave Riley went to the box for roughing with only 0:23 in the game, but Meyer completed his utter domination of the period completing the Natural and 5-goal game on the PP at 0:13 from Hathorn, with his 5th point, and Riffle, with his third point.
