In the first game of the night we have the Gamblers hosting the Jacks. Both teams come into this week off of wins last week, the Gamblers over the Nords and the Jacks over the Whalers. The Gamblers and Jacks are currently tied for second place and the winner of this game will take over sole possession of second. The Gamblers have taken the first two meetings this year and the last game was an 8-7 win for the Gamblers. The edge goes to the Jacks tonight as they will win this game 4-3 with a late goal the third.

The Gamblers have taken the first two meetings this year and the last game was an 8-7 win for the Gamblers. Both teams came out ready to battle but it was the Gamblers who got on the scoreboard first when Topo LaCroix put them up 1-0 at 11:33 mark in the period. The Jacks Loren Lunt would tie the game at one with 7 minutes left to go in the first. The Gamblers would grab the lead back at 4:25 when Zach Aher put one past the Jacks Chris Pelkey. It would be the Jacks who would get the final say in the period as Tim Patten would tie the game two with 1:05 left in the period. The period would end with the score tied 2-2 and both goalies were playing well. The Jacks Chris Pelkey made 11 saves and the Gamblers fill in goalie Colin Farr made 13 saves.

In the second period the Gamblers scored possibly the fast goal in UVHL history as Zach Aher shot the puck forward on the open faceoff, Matty Marrazzo skated off the center circle to pick up Aher"s past off the draw and fired one past Pelkey just 6 seconds into the period to put the Gamblers up 3-2. The Gamblers Marrazzo would extend the lead to 4-2 as he scored his second goal of the night at 11:46. The Jacks would make the score 4-3 at 5:58 mark on a Tyler Dewdney goal. Shortly after pulling within one goal the Jacks would get a PP play, on the PP the Jacks Will Olmstead would tie the game at 4 with 4:02 left in the period. Both teams would get some chances late but neither could break the tie. The Jacks Pelkey finished the period with 10 saves (two period total of 21) and Gamblers Farr would finish with 12 (two period total of 25).

Heading into the third period with the score tied at 4-4 the Gamblers once again stuck quickly in the period as Jason Gramling would put the Gamblers up 5-4 59 seconds in. The Jacks would put serious pressure on the Gamblers but Farr was standing on his head and not letting anything by. The Gamblers would get a late goal from Max Wood with 42 seconds left in the period to give the Gamblers a 6-4 win. The Gamblers Farr finished the period with 16 saves and a game total of 41 saves. The Jacks Pelkey only saw 6 shots in the third and had a 3 period total of 27 saves.
