In the first game of the night we had Tuck hosting the Whalers. This game meant nothing to Whalers but for Tuck it was a game that would decide the seed in the playoffs. With a win it would guarantee a second or third place finish and with a loss it would make them finish in fourth regardless of the last game. The game started out with both teams getting chances and the score would remain scoreless until 16 seconds left in the first period when Tuck's Jeremy Deutsch would put them up 1-0 heading into the second period.

In the second period Tuck would continue to build off the momentum from the late goal and would go up 2-0 on a goal from Jesse Kligman at 11:31. With the Whalers being down 2-0 they would then wake up and keep their foot on the gas pedal as Ryan Quinn would go off for five goals in the second period. He would score his first goal at the 9:58 mark followed by one at 9:43, 6:26, 134, and 1:03 to put the Whalers up 5-2 heading into the third. Once the Whalers got their first goal they dominated the second period and didn't let Tuck have a shot for over 10 minutes.

In the third Tuck would come out and get a quick goal from Jeremy Deutsch again to make the score 5-3 Whalers. Although the Whale gave up a quick goal they would keep the pressure on Tuck but they wouldn't get another goal until Ryan Quinn would score his 6th of the night with 3:12 left to play. The Whalers would hold on to win the game by the score of 6-3 and that would mean that these two teams will meet in the play in game Sunday 2/25 at 9:30 in Woodstock for a rematch of tonight's game. The winner of the play in game will move on to play the #1 seed Blues on Tuesday in the semifinals.
